A rather simple question

This is odd, but how do you get pictures to appear? I've known it on other sites, but the coding is diffrent here. If that doesn't make sense, as an example, let's say my picture url is b. If I wanted to get the 'b' photo to appear, what thingys would I put around it?

The reason it doesn't work in your signature is that you put a line between "" and your url and the closing line.
