The Pokémon Sky Relay Challenge! Fly, Noibat!!

While heading towards Dendemille Town, Ash & co. learn of a Pokémon Sky Relay. Ash is excited to enter and brings his Fletchinder, Hawlucha and newly obtained Noibat to pasrticipate. However, as Noibat is still so young, it's still having trouble mastering flying. Will Ash be able to help Noibate learn to fly and will he win the Sky Relay?

So Noibat got a tiny bit of development learning to master the wind, but otherwise it seems he learnt to fly completely off-screen, which is kinda sad, no more development episodes for him I guess, until he battles and gets a moveset that is, but seems pretty far away by knowing the episode titles...

Can we please get the older, old forum back?

It sounds like an utter disappointment..
- Flying development being offscreen.
- No pay-off to the actual episode.

He did learn to deal with high wind speeds against him though...and Ash wouldve won the race easily, but Hawlucha was hit by the Pelipper mecha and also for some reason, it took Noibat a long time to get the sash on from Hawlucha :/

break up w yo gf, im bored
Both Hawlucha and Noibat did really good. I love the interactions between the two, esp. how much Noibat admires the Lucha.

The other bird coming at third or fourth place in its lap made them lose precious time, but alas. I'm glad Ash didn't win one of these competitions of the day, for once.

Happy to see Altaria, Ledyba & Hydreigon in the race.

Well i am happy in a way that Ash didn't win the race.

I mean he was using a newly born Pokemon, plus unlike the others, he didn't train his Flying types for aerial racing. So, in a way he is a newbie in this Team Race event.

Cute episode not much to say. Glad Noibat can now learn to fly. Though I'm slightly glad Ash didn't win the race, now it would be hilarious if he actually did and destroys the hopes and dreams of that guy with the Staraptor who didn't even get to meet during this episode.

A good episode overall. Lots of great interactions between Hawlucha, Noibat, and Fletchinder as both Hawlucha and Fletchinder continue to help Noibat hone its flying skills. Hawlucha continues to shine like a bauss like always.

It does suck a bit that Noibat lost by a hair in the last leg. But from Noibat's character development perspective, it was necessary. Its Sky Rally experience showed that losing isn't always a bad thing as long it gave its best effort. And Ash comforting Noibat after it teared up allowed Ash to let Noibat know that despite the outcome, it gave it all its best effort and its Trainer was proud for its role in the race as well as how far it has come in its flying skills (especially as a young Pokemon).

Lastly, RIP Hydregion

This episode gave some strong Flame Pokemon-Athon vibes (race, crowd, Pokemon running into things/Pokemon riding Pokemon), which is always great cause that was one of the best episodes of the original series

So nice to see the flying types getting so much attention finally, haven't seen that since like.... Swellow and to a lesser extent Staraptor.

Loved seeing Fletchinder in this episode and him finally showing some personality. I especially went aww when I saw Clemont holding him like that and cracked up when I saw him being consoled by Clemont when he was exhausted after passing the sash.

Noctowl are supposed to be like 5'3 so that's noticeably bigger than the other regional birds, I never understood why Ash's was shown to be so small.
It was made small on purpose to make it different than the rest in addition to it's intelligence and colour.

(he is judging what weird thing you just said)
Noctowl looks bigger then others that I seen

That's the actual real size for Noctowl.

Maybe because the writers didn't want him to own a giant bird that he could hitch a ride on too early?
