a search ingine for an avatar

Well,I had a really hard time looking for an ave of Ho-oh.

Is it possibale if Serebii could put a search thing for the avatars.

say like your looking at ave's and you type in *Ho-oh* and it shows all the ave's of Ho-oh.


it would be helpful.

What would be nice is if Joe just fixed the avatar pages. Whenever I try to view them, they go off the side of the page without a horizontal scroll option. Not that I'll be changing my avy any time soon, but...

Ha - what do you know. I'm the one who said this in the Suggestion Thread. Make a search box so we can find what avatar we want without having to go through every page (this would be especially helpful to people on Dial-Up like myself)

i agree with you MS... it takes me like 2 mins for the whole page to load and a search engine can help instead of taking a while to look for the avatar soemone wants. >.>

The simplest thing to do to end the confusion. Oh, and I think the R/S/E and similar Pokemon avatars need arranging by number BADLY. It's really confusing. Why is Miltank on the first page? :confused:

Well, yes, but you'll see that Serebii won't agree. The search box isn't really necessary if the avatars are well arranged. Hooray for manual arrangement!
*edit* I think the Pokemon sprite avatars are arranged the way they are because they weren't added all at once; they were uploaded bit by bit.

There is a slight problem when it comes to listing and searches. In terms of the anime and movie avatars (mostly ones done by Ed or myself) They aren't exactly labled by pokemon or character, but instead by some sort of caption (myself), or sometimes using the Character's Japanese name (I believe Ed did this sometimes).

One thing you can do is if you see an avatar you like being used by another member, you can PM them POLITELY and ask them where exactly they found it (including page and such) as those can be linked to.

so I'm sure there is a perfect pic of a Ho-oh that I'm wanting but how can I find it?

how do I get diffrent avatars like Aslan from NARNIA?

IMO I think this site could be alot better if the admin (don't know who he is) opens his mind ;)

I agree, it takes forever to find a new avatar. But then again, to do anything here, you have to have patience.

We also need to get rid of the avatars that are the same as others, but just with a glow around them, or facing in the other direction. It's pointless (not as much so as the Poke emoticons) , and takes up that precious "bandwith" that apparently keeps me from having my piccolo with a santa hat as my avatar.

It seperates the Mods/SMods/Admins from the rest easily. Also, it'd eat up bandwidth, wouldn't it, if ever other member could stuff some ugly animation in, usually sized wrong, of some lame character or band?

Ohh yeah. It would take up so much bandwidth to have all members able to have custom avvys. There are a bunch of members on SPPF, it would be impossible. Plus pages would take years to load because people like to use animations as avatars. >__>
