A Very Shiny Oddish

Ok, so today Fighting Master complained to me why I haven't trained my shiny Oddish yet.
I want this Oddish to be as perfect as possible, it hasn't got the best nature or the greatest IVs, but its my single favorite pokemon I own.

Basically, im more of a Breeder so when it comes to EVs, movesets and general battling stuff, I consult others, I am in no way an amature though.

So im after a wide Serebii population opinion on what to do with my beloved Oddish.

Here is my proposed set, he's at level 24 at the moment.

Shiny Oddish@ Whatever
Careful (Unlucky but can't be helped)
- Sludge Bomb
- Swords Dance
- Moonlight
- Sleep Powder

So I need a little help with the old EVs as well. Not the best at them.

Oh, one last thing, I WILL NOT EVOLVE THIS ODDISH as I love Oddish far more than it's evos.

it's kinda obvious that Oddish is his most favourite pokemon, and he prefers to keep it that way.

I have a shiny Torchic that I refuse to evolve as well.

well its not going to be perfect and it has a **** nature, i would breed for a modest natured one and evolve that ***** into a vileplume

go with a set liek this

max out sp atk evs and give alot of spd evs then some in HP

There is no problem, I just like Oddish. And I believe any pokemon can be rated in rate my team, not just ''powerfull'' fully evolved ones.

As I have said before, this is the Oddish I will train, its probably the only chance I will have at training a shiny Oddish.

Erm, thanks for the Vileplume moveset Sc1z0r PwN0rZ, but this is the Oddish I want to train, not to have to go get another Shiny one, just Modest.

Heh, sorry 9Voltdude but you couldn't be more wrong. For me, training this Oddish is the most worthwhile thing I could ever do, it shows my devotion to my favorite pokemon to have level 100 well trained Oddish.

I guess you don't like any underevolved pokemon, as if you did you would understand.

If you don't like helping with a moveset of an unevolved pokemon, please just don't post. I just want opinions of help, not the textbook ''best pokemon''.

Thanks 9voltdude, unlikely i'll get HP Ground but thats a great suggestion!

Even if it's Careful, would there be any point in SunnyBeaming? And what about Sub? Somewhere I heard It works well on most pokemon.

Yeah, thats its big weakness, then again, it does have a lot of them!
I'll probably be only using this in game, and for fun battles with friends. Its a lot about the whole bragging rights of a well trained lev 100 Shiny Oddish though!

Atomic Boo, I am glad you are keeping oddish and not evolving it. Don't worry of people say it's rubbish. It could still be useful in battle. I like shiny oddish-i caught two!! I hope to get one more to keep a gloom.
Don't get offened by people saying pokemon should reach their final evolutions. I would keep a pokemon from evolving if I liked it. :)

I understand how you feel. Go ahead and keep it an Oddish. If you train it well, it can still be pretty good.

1) Careful is the recommended nature for Atomic Boo's Set (Which would be better if it had AT, but meh)
2) It RMT, not ZoMg! Rayt My Level 100 Oober Charisard! It's Got Blast Birn, Fyr Blast & Hidro Pump!
3) Also, RMT is not 'Rate my shiny pokemon'
4) 9voltdude, you act like Atomic Boo actually cares about you not liking Oddish
5) Do you care about 9boltdude not liking Oddish?
6) I have a mild shiny bellossom, and it pretty much sucks.
7) What HP does it have? Fighting, Steel, Rock & Ground are best, me thinks.

Wow, thanks everyone, you've all made me feel a lot better, 9voltdude put me down a little, but everyones enthusiasm has brought me back to happiness!

I do hope Oddish gets a Physical HP, makes the Careful nature a bit more worthwhile.

Why is everyone being such penis' to Atomic Boo, just becasue he wants help with training an Oddish?! Do any of you have a Favourite Pokemon that isn't Salamence and co?

Anyway, Stick with Shiny Mewtwo's Suggestion, but you could have Moonlight over Double Edge.

do not go with shiny mewtwo's set

go sunnyday, solar beam, sleep powder and sludge bomb/moonlight/HP

it really doesn't matter though because even with perfect IV's and the best nature and best EV's this is how it will turn out:

Pokemon used move
Oddish fainted

If he wants to train it, and if it loses, give it the Exp. Share. Assuming that Atomic Boo has great pokemon, that would gain it levels. Try the Elite Four. They give pokemon around that level good training, with the Exp. Share.

I have a Lv.100 Nincada, Surskit, Vigoroth, Shelgon, Dragonair, and Pupitar.
Most Because of their Type change (or in Vigoroth's case, Ability).

How about this unquique Moveset:

Sludge Bomb
Return/Giga Drain
Swords Dance
Sleep Powder

Very close to yours. Oddish won't be able to take many hits, so Putting the Opponent to sleep is a must. Switch if you run into a Vital Spirit/Insomnia Pokemon, a Steel Type, a Gastly/Haunter/Gengar, ect.

You could try to boost it using a BP (Smeagle with Spore, Acid Armor/Iron Defense, Amnesia, Baton Pass. It will help its Frail Defenses.)

Oddish could wrk well with the right Support.

FYI, people, virtually EVERYTHING works in-game.

Yeah, im going to stray away from the Special moves, that Careful nature demands Physical moves [/obvious]
