A Weird situation concerning my Gamertag

I honestly haven't posted here in forever, but I think I'm gonna come off hiatus now cuz I actually have the time.

Anyway, about a year ago, my Windows Live ID was hacked (I still am not sure why but have my own theories). Whenever I try to log into XBOX.com, it won't let me, and whenever I ask for a password reset, it says my email is invalid. Now, I don't have credit cards under my account, so thats not what concerns me right now.

The real concern: my 360 is about to eat **** and die. It a Pro, almost 2 and a half years old and works like a beauty, though it finally seems to be giving in (Making lots of weird noises, more frequent freezing issues, etc.)
My concern isn't getting another Xbox (I got lots of money for that), my problem is I fear that if my Xbox dies, since I can't migrate the account, it will be lost forever, and all my progress will be gone as well (That's thosands of hours of gaming and about 10,000 GS). I can transfer all the content to the new console via a transfer cable, but I'm pretty sure i'd need to migrate my tag, which of course is impossible at the moment.

I've thought about calling MS, but I heard they are of no help concerning these types of issues. Anyone got suggestions? Will it just move with my other content off my hard drive or what?

All help or all attempts at help would be appreciated.

Mine was hacked as well. First, start a new Windows Live account. Once that's done, head over to xbox.com and log in as your hacked account. Then, say you forgot your password. An email will be sent to the email linked with that account. Now you can log in. Then, you have to transfer the hacked Windows Live account to the new one you just made.

I love how I talk about this all the time but you never tell me that is was that simple.
