Hi guys. I just need someone to explain to me about IV's and how it works (and about IV Training). I know that you have it on this site but I confuses me a lot, so can someone please help me. (Also, how is this related to Hidden Power?)

IV I believe stands for initial value. Being initial, you don't train that.

What you train in is EVs, effort values. Certain Pokemon, when defeated, give you effort points towards certain stats (Speed, Attack, HP, Defense, Special Attack, or Special Defense). Whatever the Pokemon's highest base stat is is the stat it gives EVs for. The Pokedex here on Serebii has all that info.

4 EVs towards a stat = 1 point when the Pokemon levels.

That good enough?

actually, that's wrong dude... dragonite08 is talking about IV's. NOT EV's. they are different. Iv's happen to be a special, stat altering idea that makes ALL pokemon individuals. it randomly gives your pokemon stats in various areas. anywhere from 1-31 stat points can be given to any given pokemon. i'm pretty sure its controlled by the personality of the pokemon. for instance, if it says on your pokemon's info card that he is "capable of taking hits" then that should mean he would recieve more stats in the defense areas. in all cases SEARCH! use the search key. the info is on this website, just look for it instead of asking everyone. but here, i'll do the work for ya.... lame.... click this!(no pun intended)
