About moderators

I want ask,what members must do,that they can get to moderators?
I was just wondering this,because I have own forum,and I wanted ask,what method Serebii uses.I just though that,what kind abilities my forum's moderators should have.

Delete/edit posts, delete threads, sticky/lock threads, access a mod-only forum, and edit signatures. That's all I know of.

If you mean what they'd do to earn a promotion... basically set a good example, be somewhat active, have a good sense of moderation, and most importantly, have self-control. That last one's important - I'm tired of seeing nazi mods on the internet. .-.

There are 4 staff positions here, moderator -> moderator+ -> super moderator -> administrator.
Each one has a few added abilities (mods+ can edit sigs and view IP addresses, but not ban users; smods can moderate everywhere, ban users and such.)

P.S. Everyone picks their staff according to their own personal judgement, so asking how they are chosen here won't help your forums much. Try reading about it at The Admin Zone and then make your own method concordantly to that.
