I'm training my Pokemon. I dun EV train, so I wanted to know about Pcikup. I know the items it can get, yadda, yadda... My question is, do you have to battle in order for a Pokemon to pcik up an item? It says so on the main site, but I just want to confirm it fully.

After each battle you're in (whether the Pokemon with Pick Up participates or not), there is a 10% chance that your Pokemon with Pick Up will be holding an item.
