Since one person who didn't think it's good of recapping the classic closed the previous thread, this has been reposted.
The Pokémon games was a hit. It was one of the most-selling games for Game Boy ever made.
Although you could only have 1 save, it was one of the biggest games, too. All the features are as follows:
- A party of your own Pokemon to bring with you. It consists of 6 members.
- You could store more pokemon in boxes, which were 12 at the time, bringing storage to 240 Pokemon. (20 per box)
- A stat system with Attack, Defence, Special, HP, and Speed. They all affect battles in a specific way.
- A total of 151 Pokemon, in which nearly 90% are tied to evolution.
- 15 total types, which have strengths and weaknesses to other types. Also supports immunity.
- The 8 gyms, Elite Four and Champion to bring extra much challenge to the game.
- The system of trading and battling via a link cable.

- Generation 1 is the only generation to have non-legendary mascots, excluding their remakes. (FireRed, LeafGreen)
- If counting the glitch pokemon, this generation has the most glitches ever.
- Generation I has the most extra space in the Pokémon storage system if the player captures one of each Pokémon, with 240 spots available for 151 Pokémon, leaving 89 extra spots.
