...NINE-THOUSAND!!!!
The Togepi given to you in XD is programmed to be very difficult to make it happy enough to evolve, right?

I remember reading that this only applies to it when it is in XD. However, after trading it to Emerald and babying it for a few hours, it shows no signs of being near evolution.

I'm just wondering what the deal is with this Togepi and evolving it.

Well i thought you were supposed to give that Togepi back to the guy for an elekid maybe its Nintendo's way of saying dont steal. o_O Just a suggestion.

He evolves eventually yes. But in all honesty, the Elekid is a much better investment. It has Ice Punch, Thunder Punch, Fire Punch and Cross Chop.

I have a Togetic from Colosseum, so i can breed that :p

trading a pokemon reverts it to 70 happiness, and it needs to be at around 250 to evolve. it just takes a long time no matter what.

I say that the togepi is better. It gets tri attack which is a great special move that goes well with its ability serene grace, and togepi cannot get tri attack any other way, short of hacking. While elekid can simply have the moves bred onto him.
Of course, if you play the game twice, you can get both ;)

Sorry, but a Togekiss with Serene Grace and Tri-Attack sounds WAY better than an Electabuzz/Electivire with a weak extra move.

But, yeah. Problem solved, this thread can go.
