Musical Mayhem
~Simple and Clean~
Magic. For thousands of years it’s been protected, exposed, un-exposed, re-exposed, and disputed. Those who bear it alone can protect it, as well as expose it. They have all the power over it. Not. The people who have carried the powers of magic thus far have only had teensy tastes of its great potential and its wondrous powers to bend reality, alter time, control the very essence of the elements, play with the mind, and everything and anything else both imaginable and unimaginable. For years it has been old cronies who’ve kept the most power, until the next generation comes into play… a generation of preschoolers.
~La Histoire de Magique… sort of~
Wizards and other various historians couldn’t seem to come up with a solution to when magic had come around… however it is known that the older one gets, the stronger and more defined their designated powers become, no matter what kind of creature one is. So a council of the oldest, and most powerful beings was made. Various creatures that knew the extent of their powers. Obviously some creatures that weren’t immortal had to continue being replaced, the more humane ones, witches and wizards mostly. The others really have outlived their stay. But they are still there, watching over all of magic, striking down those who threaten to expose it (both good/evil critters are on the council and are in agreement to keep magic a secret).
Meanwhile, in the “normal” world of humans, while the council goes on, hidden in New York City (Magical Bookstore: you give them and we POOF them away at a low price!!!), other magical creatures move on, living out their lives either disguised as humans, being humans, or disguised as other animals for those of animal-like dissent (unicorn farms anyone?). The most of any one kind of magical creature are witches/wizards, since they are really magical “creatures” per say, more like humans with special powers.
No extremely large outbursts of magical exposure came, there was a rough patch during the 1600’s when people were burned at the stake, but besides that, no one even suspected that magic was real, and those who did were considered loonies. In more recent years however, the threat has become real.

Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s),
Hello Parent/Guardian of *insert child’s name here*. We have sensed that your child possess great power, maybe great enough to alter reality itself. We here at the Council of Magic feel that it would be for the best if your child comes to stay with us at a preschool facility called Academy of Gifted Witches/Wizards. They will learn all about their powers, the history of magic, and their ABCs and 123s of course. They will be returned to your custody in time for kindergarten or any extra training you may have in mind for them. Please see all of the forms and map we have attached to this letter for you.
Best Regards,
Alucard Von Claud
Vampire Representative of the Council of Magic.
About 10 sets of witch/wizard parents have received this letter from Mr. Von Claud for the release of their children to a private school in the mountains of Pennsylvania, a school to train their admittedly dangerous powers so that they will not use them against the council or for exposure. At first the school seemed alright to the little kiddies, whom were kept separate at first, who got to play outdoors with one of their parents whom originally accompanied them to the Facility. They learned normal preschool things and were quite happy at the time their parent/guardian left. Each class was taught by a witch or wizard teacher until after the parents left and now each class is taken over by the council.
However, not all is as it seems at this happy preschool… each child is taken in for tests daily and they seem to be becoming increasingly painful. The food is cafeteria style, (ex: bad meatloaf) and not nearly nutritious enough for a growing child. They are allowed outside in a courtyard with a small playground, courtyard meaning that there are brick walls surrounding it. The kids have now been moved in with a roommate in the spacious castle due to the increasing arrival of Council members wanting their own rooms. Each also received a tiny band around their wrists, resembling a hemp bracelet, each with its own specific color (so be sure to SPECIFY what color yours is and check the others before posting your own color) that keeps track of them wherever they are in the building on a large screen in the lobby with colored dots. They’ve also stopped doing all laundry except for one single outfit, matching the color of said bracelet.
To the children, the school has lost its fun, and the magic has lost its magic. They are becoming increasingly afraid of the looming council and want to escape. Escape has become the goal. All they’d have to do is get past the staff, guards, babysitter, and whole Magical Council. But with powers like theirs, what could go wrong? Everything.

My Sign-Up:
Name: Whitney Mimlestine
Gender: Female
Age: 5
Description: Whitney is very petite, even in terms of preschoolers. She has a tiny, heart shaped face, lined with freckles across the bridge of her nose and cheeks. Framing this is her shimmering straw colored hair. It’s always pulled away from her face with some sort of little colored bow or barrette. Behind her ears, also keeping her hair back is usually some sort of writing utensil, a pen or a paint brush. Occasionally, a wet paint brush is tucked there and drips colored paint into her hair, staining it for a few days or until she washes it. Whitney has two big chocolately brown eyes which seem to take up quite a lot of her sweet little face. She’s also always seen wearing an oversized purple beret, formerly her mother’s, given to her the day she went to the AoGW.
Whitney’s tiny arms and legs are also freckled and very petite, allowing her to slip through tiny places with the easiest grace. Her tracking bracelet is purple, matching her oversized beret her plum corduroy overalls, worn on a daily basis. Underneath her purple overalls is a lighter lilac colored t-shirt with a picture of a tiny dragon doodled on it in purple Sharpie by Whitney herself. This is Pepper, her tiny “imaginary” (aka REAL) dragon, whom pretends to be stuffed most of her life. Pepper, a tiny pink stuffed dragon, is always being carried around in Whitney’s arms, she never lets go of her. In Whitney’s overall pocket is an assortment of pencils and markers, which all have magical binding spells on them to keep her from using her powers. Whitney has a pair of tiny purple shoes with once-white tips, now doodled all over with cute pictures.
Personality: Whitty is a quiet thinker, preferring to keep to herself until she really knows the person she plans on talking to. She will observe the other students from the back of the class, never seeming to pay attention, but spreading random doodles around her papers with her specially magicked pencil. She often gets in trouble with the teachers for this; however she aces most of her quizzes and things with ease. The truth is, she is very smart and her doodles usually have to do with her notes. Each student and subject doesn’t exist in her mind until she doodles it, since she is so used to doodling things into reality. However, once she gets to know a student, she is quite the imaginative thinker, often leading the kids in little parades in Music, coming up with things to play on the mini-playground, and always leading them into some sort of trouble.
Whitty, however, doesn’t get much respect, because she is too kind and is often taken advantage of by the staff and Council. She ends up doing countless of their chores (she’s even cleaned the toilets) and is often quite exhausted by these activities, especially since they’re usually over nap time. So, needless to say, towards the end of the day, Whitty begins having meltdowns when denied paper, food, or proper amounts of playtime. She is also a bit spoiled from her former ability to gain whatever she wanted simply by drawing it (despite the fact that it never turned out quite right) and Whitty has lost her sense of pride without her magic doodles, and she is hell-bent to get it back.
Power: Whitty has the power to draw things into reality, or even out of reality. She can change whatever she wants with the simple stroke of the pencil/crayon/marker/paints. However, this is all very dependant on how WELL the picture is drawn, and Whitty being a well, 5 year old, can draw about the level of stick figures and blobs. So things always come out a bit… odd. Her most successful drawing is Pepper, who actually came out right.
History: Whitty was born on April 14th, 2002 to Paige and Conner Mimelstine. They already had one daughter, Emily, who is now sixteen. Emily has the power to freeze time for about a minute; however she can’t freeze witches/wizards. (She’s the babysitter if you haven’t guessed). Paige and Conner were thrilled to have another baby girl, despite the EXTREME age difference and obvious jealousy that Emily held towards her sister. This caused quite a lot of sibling rivalry, and as if that weren’t enough, the first time Whitty picked up a pencil and scribbled everywhere at the age of two, she created a floating blob of black scribbles. Her parents were stunned, being very low power witches/wizards themselves, they had been stunned at Emily’s power, but Whitney’s was completely unheard of. They took her to visit a Centaur, master of psychology up at an eyeglasses store where he was cloaked as a human. He immediately alerted the council of this disaster, despite the parents’ joy at their daughter’s brilliant powers.
Emily was sent to a normal school until her parents received the ominous sealed letter with no return address and leased her, for the best, to the Academy. Her sister went along, as did her mother for the Parents Tag Along Month, when all the other parents were there as well. Her sister was hired due to her brilliant powers to be their “babysitter” for when the Councilors were too lazy.
Other: Whitney has a pet Dragon named Pepper who appears to be stuffed in front of the council, however Whitty and her friends know better…
