Is this ability as well as or instead of STAB?

It would suck if it was instead of, because then it would just be pointless.

It gives you Double STAB. So Tri Attack's power is 80, but gets 1.5x boost from STAB then 1.5x boost from Adaptive, giving you a 180 base power move.

Yes it doubles and it would be pointless if it wasn't and if you use shceme along with it Tri-attack would do 360 damage thats more then explosion does.

It gives you Double STAB. lets say 100base power x 1.5 x 1.5 = 225 base power

get it? in other words you can sue it with STAB

I think it runs on the original base power of the move, Anthony, so 180 not 225.
