Meanwhile, Chris's number has just been called. As he steps out onto the field, a very tall man looks across at him.
Announcer: Next up is Chris versus Anthony!
Anthony: Hypno! You're up!
Chris: Alright, Eevee! Let's show 'em who's the best!
Anthony: Right away, Hypno! Let's use Confusion!
Eevee is fazed by the charge of psychic energy, but quickly recovers.
Chris: Alright, we won't let them get another chance like that! Quick Attack!
Eevee runs at Hypno, knocking it off balance. But after the impact, instead of stopping, Eevee make a u-turn and hits Hypno again and again, until it's on the ground.
Anthony: Keep your balance Hypno!
Chris: Great, Eevee! Just like we practiced!
Meanwhile, Eric has taken a seat in the stadium to watch the rest of the tournament.
Eric: Wow. Chris really is good. He had reason to be cocky when Serina challenged him. He's pushed that Eevee hard, but it all pays off in the end.
Anthony: Hypno, use another Confusion!
Again, Eevee is confused for only a few seconds. It charges Hypno again, knocking the tired pokemon back to the ground.
Chris: Let's finish this, now! Give it a Bite!
Hypno, weak to Dark type moves, can't take the attack. It faints.
Chris: Great battle, Eevee! Come on back!
Eevee: *gives an exhausted smile* Eee! *recalled*
Back in the waiting room, Chris and Serina watch the rest of the first round with the other trainers. The room grows less crowded as trainers are slowly eliminated.
Chris: So, are you having fun, Serina?
Serina: Yeah! I was so nervous at first, but Butterfree was strong, and I guess I had no reason to worry.
Chris: Mankey sure is weird. Does it pop out like that all the time?
Serina: Well, so far this is twice... It always seems to know when I need help.
Chris: Guess you're pretty lucky.
After the first round ends, the trainers all take their pokemon to the healing center in the Stadium lobby. Then everyone waits for the next two numbers to be called.
More trainers are eliminated until once again, Serina's number is called.
Chris: Go get 'em, Serina!
Serina: Yeah! Thanks Chris!
With her worries gone, Serina steps confidently onto the field. Another girl about her age looks back at her.
Announcer: The next battle is Susan versus Serina!
Susan: Beedrill! Let's go!
Serina: Butterfree! We can do it this time!
CURRENT FACE-OFF:
Serina VS Susan
-Each time you post, hurt one of the pokemon.
-Posting is ONCE PER HALF HOUR
-If a pokemon has a power level, hurt the other pokemon by that number.
