I've filled my dexes and "achieved everything" in Gold, Silver, Crystal, Ruby , Sapphire, Emerald, Fire red and Leaf Green, which probably brings me to a huge amount of hours, and I've always hated the fact that in all that excessive playtime I never found a single shiny.
Well no more! Today on FR whilst in the Safari zone looking for a Female Scyther (to trade to LG for my squad breeding with butterfree) (To breed Silver Wind onto) I encountered a Level 22 Brave Nidoran Male! I almost ran away out of habit, I was just turning on the spot, then pressing down-right-a if I didn't hear a Scyther cry, until I heard a little "Ding" and thought "Oh finally, I deserve this!"
Ironically my LG squad already has Nidoqueen on as quite a powerhouse, so I'm not sure what I'm gonna be using my Blue Nidoking for, but at least i've finally got my shiny!
