I'm making a new thread on this. I'm sick of everything being contained in a generic thread; I liked the single discussion threads. Sorry Sushi, I'm moving it out here.

But don't dismay, the complete discussion on this episode so far is here.

so pretty much the 2nd part of this battle. Although most of this episode will probally be intro and problem of the day. Maybe id if we're lucky there could be comething unique or some sort of test related to the battle pike but, im probally expecting too much.

Orienteering? Isn't that some sort of cross-country race using a map to navigate?

Are we sure Lucy gets two episodes? Sounds like a filler inbetween Harley's contest.

Maybe the orienteering has something to do with finding their way through the Battle Pike?

It does seem to work with the way the Battle Pike is set-up in the games, more or less anyway. Minus the cross-country part of course, and maybe the race part, although it could still be a race...err.

Sounds more like a stand alone episode though.

Ya, I'm gonna guess orienteering ep is a stand alone episode too... even when episodes sound like they could be connected, they're usually not

The gang should do pretty well in some sort of orienteering competition, they've (especially Ash & Brock) been using maps to get around for years now.

My experiences with orienteering had you navigating to different points as you made your way to the ultimate destination, perhaps Ash and the funky bunch will face a few small challenges as they make their way through the Battle Pike... but that sort of thing seems like too much for a single episode.

Ash used maps? And all this time I thought he relied solely on woman's intuition.

You know, when I first read the translation on Bulba, which contained the word 'Championship' I instantly thought of Steven, since he looks like the sort of guy that would do this sort of thing.

On another note this sounds like another Grand Prix episode, somewhat similar to the Ponyta/Rapidash episode from the 1st season. But none of the main characters really have anything to race on this time...I suppose Ash could call over his Bayleef to race on that, but what will May and Brock race on?

Ash and are screwed. I'm sorry but of their various talents, orienteering is not one of them considering how they get lost all the time. We'll just have to see what happens in this episode and why orienteering is mentioned.

Brock could try riding on Marshtomp, and May could do the same with Munchlax (possibility). Anyways, I'm glad we're getting another Lucy episode if we are, and it's alright if it's like the Ponyta episode, since that could show the different skills our gang possess.

I don't mind at all that someone is making a new thread. It's just like CyberCubed said, I didn't want to see my name listed three times on the first page of the Spoilers Forum, it would've scared me XP

The episode does sound interesting, even if the information the title gives is rather vague. But (judging from the pattern) it seems likely that Yuusaku Takeda will be the art director of this episode, and a bad drawing style is just something that gives the episode an extremely displeasing impression. On the other hand, he'd better draw this one rather than ruining the Harley episode x_X

And yay for orienteering hikes ;D They're fun, and for some reason I can imagine this episode having a whole lot of action, good TR scenes and funny anime expressions. Maybe like..the Ponyta/Rapidash episode from the first season or the 'recent' Onix episode or something like that..

Not really relevant, but I wonder how the rest of Ash's tauros herd would react to commands... we assume that he's always relied on the same one, the others haven't really been spoken to in years.

They're still good to race on. But this leads to a couple hilarious possibilites...... the gang riding on Tauros through a maze being chased by some angry Seviper or something like that.

Those seemed to be exceptions to the rule. Pokemon generally seem to obey their trainers, even some of the mistreated ones.

And when you think about it...Ash hasn't had anything to do with Phanpy since the end of Johto, but it obeyed him just fine when he put it in his team again. Krabby wasn't used at all from when it was caught up until the Indigo League(although it was implied that Ash checked up on it every so often, so it's not like it just saw him when he caught it), but it obeyed him. Same goes for Muk and...Tauros.

Granted, none of those situations are as extreme as the one with those 29-ish other Tauros of his, but still. I imagine they'd behave similarly to a newly-caught Pokemon, which usually translates to "generally obediant of their trainer" in the anime.
