I finnaly make a speculation thread myself!

I'm very positive that Grovyle evolves in this episode. It would be cool that Grovyle would beat Tropius, then evolve.

I bet Grovyle will get beat up badly by Tropius and then he'll evolve! After he evolves into Sceptile, he will learn Solarbeam! :D

Haven't we had enough solarbeaming pokemon in the group already. Let's try something new for a change.

To be honest, Sceptile doesn't get that much.

....but anything is better than Solarbeam. Let's get some REALLY creative stuff from Fire Red/Leaf Green [EDIT: Emerald] .... like elemental Punches! (yeah right)

-Grovyle battles the airborne beast, and fails.

-Some relevent (or irrelevent if TR sneaks in) stuff happens concerning Grovyle getting stronger though whatever means neccessary.

-Grovyle fights it again, and wins it's final battle with kickass animation in tow.

-Evolves and everyone swoons over it.

Thats essentially how I'd like the flow of this episode to go.

I'd like to add that Solarbeam is a shitty choice for a move, because it doesn't fit with the pokémon's fighting style at all. Bullet Seed is fine, because its a quick rapid fire move. Huge godly boring beam attacks suck big time and shouldn't even be considered.

I do like V's Elemental Punch idea however. Considering they've shown Medicham throwing them at lighting fast speed, they could easily do the same with this big lug. And that would be perfect.

To tell you the truth, any other way, and I'd be a little worried. They've got this clichéd stuff down pact so much that it's troublesome to see anything else (to a certain extent).

Essentially, I'm (trying) to agree with you, Gravy.

And damn it, the only punch Sceptile can get is Thunderpunch. These idiots are freaking slaves to Ice Punch only. That cause was lost before it began.

On the upside, there's always Brick Break, Dragon Claw, Slam (it would be about time), Detect... Lots of 'in yo face!' stuff for Sceptile to play with.

Well, if I'm quite honest, the only reason I went with the scenario is because I think it suits Grovyle's character to a tee. I know its awkwardly cliché and they've tried it with several other pokémon before (Corphish most recently iirc), but when you look back at those situations it just doesn't seem to slot into place quite as well as it does here. Oddly enough, it just feels a lot more...'special' now that Grovyle is the one in question. It just works with him a lot better.

But hey, if they can actually come up with something else and make it enjoyable (HA!), then let 'em.

Slam. Would work wonders. Just look at its freakin' tail! That thing would shatter its fair share of bones for sure.
Though I'm still crossing my fingers for a punch move that isn't an example of 'Look at me! My hands glow in the dark!'.
....totally ignoring the fact that electricity would light up any room, naturally. [img139]http://www.serebiiforums.com/images/icons/icon14.gif[/img139]

lets hope the writers dont pay too much attention or we could be getting our favorite tail attack. For Sceptile Slam and Thunder punch are all right. Mega kick, detect, dynamicpunch, Crush Claw, and Brick Break would also work just fine.

Sceptile with solarbeam would be amazing, by the way, Bulbapedia confirmed that Sceptile does evolve in this episode.

Well, its pretty much a given (due to the episode descriptions given for the future), that if Grovyle does evolve here, that it won't learn a new move.

Don't want Solarbeam. Dragon Claw, Thunderpunch (the only elemental punch it can learn, BTW), or Detect would be nice. Hell, Leech Seed too.

its not up yet but, we had summaries of episodes and one of the episode summaries mentioned Ash's Sceptile was the focus of the episode.

CyberCubed

Yeah, ok!
Grovyle may not actually evolve in this one, and evolve in that Sceptile title instead.

We'll have to wait and see from the preview.

If we’re talking about ridiculous clichés, then I must spell this one out to you – Huge tree lizard with a fern sticking firmly out of its arse = iron tail, no? I honestly would be surprised if that happened.

Either way, Grovyle’s evolution is quite literally the first issue to reignite my interest for a long time.

NO, he evolves in this one, guarnteed, again. Bulbapedia confirmed it...

Poison Tail!!
This seems like an awesome ep whether Grovyle evolves or not. Seeing it battle against Tropius is good enough for me. I would like Ash to have Sceptile, which seems it will happen. I just hope after the BF is over he doesnt find some place for it to go and releases it like Charizard. Let him keep a final evolved starter. If it wont be on his team atleast let it stay at Oaks. If Ash is going to teach it a new attack or if it learns one on its own after evolving id like to see Dragon Claw, Crush Claw, Dragonbreath, Thunder Punch or even Fury Cutter or Brick Break for something different. Or maybe Seismic Toss, Earthquake, Hyper Beam, Solarbeam or Focus Punch just for fun and to be annoying :p. How about Aerial Ace? Lets see how a land dwelling pokemon uses that attack.
