AG 163: Pokémon Contest! Yuzuriha Convention!

Finally posting a thread in the Anime Spoilers... Since the AG 165 is up and this one isn't, and it airs before it... Figured that I'd start a thread on it.

再びリボンゲットをめざして、ユスリハ島のポケモンコンテストに挑むハルカ。そこで彼女はシュウにあこがれ る新米のコーディネーター、ワカナを出会う。

On her second attempt at getting a ribbon, Haruka takes on the Pokémon Contest on Yusuriha Island. There she stumbles upon Wakana, a rookie Coordinator who admires Shuu (Drew).

It implies that Wakana is going to be in this episode, and she admires Shuu. She is (most likely) the main rival Coordinator of this episode, and there is a chance that Shuu is in it.

Unsure of the Pokemon May uses and what Wakana has though. The Preview isn't up yet.

Contest Episodes come fast eh? And with that Letter from Shuu in 'AG 161: Gonbe's Battle Debut! Harley and Taking the Game Seriously!?', Shuu may be in here...

And SPP says that it is 'Yuzuriha', while Woopert says it's 'Yusuriha'... Wonder what's the island's true name... And Sushi posted that it's 'Yuzuriha', so I decided to use 'Yuzuriha'...

According to the discussion about the letter from the last episode it's been comfirmed that Drew will be in this episode, and people were also saying that Jessie wants to borrow Mannenne for this contest and we can all guess what will happen from there.

People also said that this new girl beats Drew but if this were to happen then it would be a way to get the whole May/Drew rivallry to the Grand Festival without one of them beating eachother again, thats how I would see it anyway.

But this also cheapens the fact May lost, I mean having a contest episode one after she lost in ages.

Well I think she's going to use Munchlax appeals and Eevee battling, Drew will have a new Pokemon and this new girl will probably have an overly appeared Pokemon.

This is the ep I've been waiting for. Drew's back (about bloody time), and with a fangirl in tow - sweet! Regarding how the battles will play out, it seems likely it'll be May vs. Wakana in the finals, but it sure would be weird seeing Drew go down to a rookie. Especially since May couldn't beat him using her best Pokemon, Combusken, in the Grand Festival.

It's Yusuriha, not Yuzuriha. The 'su' does not have the modifiers which would make 'su' into 'zu'.

The shippers community is flipping out over this ep. They seem to think its a life or death matter for contestshipping . I think its funny actually. Can't wait till it airs

Correction, it´s life matter for CS and death matter for AS. Because if anything shippy happens it won´t affect CS as much it would affect AS if something shippy does happen.

If May is supposed to win, she has 3 possibilities imo (Considering Jessie participates):

1) Final Four: May/Jessie and Wakana/Drew. May/Wakana in the end. It´s the most likely, but i don´t understand how a rookie would be able to beat Drew.

2) Final Four: May/Wakana and Jessie/Drew. Not likely at all, but fun to see.

3) Drew doesn´t participate, but he comes all the way to see May. Ouch for advanceshipping. More likely than #2, but less likely than #1

Pokemon hopes:

May: Please don't use Munchlax. I don't want to see that thing redeem itself so soon. And for the love of god don't use Squirtle in the appeals in this one.

Drew: Get yourself a new Pokemon. If Roselia shows up one more time I'll have to go on a homicidal rampage. Roselia was fine the first few times, but now everytime I see that thing I want to put a bullet to its head.

May will probably win this one as the writers won't have her lose two contests in a row. I can't say much else till the preview is shown.

I have a feeling that they're deliberatly making Wakana a rookie trainer so Haruka actually gets to use her Eevee.
Though that raises the question of how they'd handle Shuu's appearence in this episode. Just give him all 5 ribbons needed and have him hanging about there for the sake of it? Have him enter and lose to Jessie (providing she does enter)? Have him lose to a rookie?

Didn't Drew already have like 2 ribbons in the Arcanine episode? He should have at least 4 by now then.
