AG 164 'Sceptile! Dawn of Revival' Speculation Thread

Yes, there's no preview, and the contest ep just aired, but we've got a guess of what happens.

It seems that this ep is linked to Sceppy evolution with not being able to attack. The title seems like Ash is helping Sceptile learn to perform the moves again, and possibly teaching it a new one as well.

Bulbapedia reports with this:

Ash is busy training his newly evolved Sceptile to teach it some new techniques and regain his old ones, but his training with Sceptile doesn't seem to have any effect.

Also, is this AG 163 or 164? The previous ep spec thread says the contest ep is 163, but bulbapedia say this is 164. Can someone correct me?

Bulbapedia are reporting that Spenser appears. May be false, but it's possible. meaning Spenser gets more screentime if it's true.

Why do we get all these threads before the previews now? I mean the Jungle battle one has been up for days and the episode isn't for a while. >_>;

Well my prediction is, Ash tries training, Team Rocket attack, Sceptile battles them and starts losing, THEN it gets its moves back and thene everything is fine for his battle in the next facility.

Not my fault this is started early, most threads recently are started early, in some cases, this is pretty late >.>

Your prediction seems accurate.

I hope that it doesn't happen.

I mean, it's not that much that we see an eppy dedicated to training, so I think Ash should do it the normal way.

Don't worry, I found the mistake. They've called Vanity Affair AG 101, as well as the Barboach ep. The title's OK.

Another interesting note that if it's true that Spenser appears in the ep, he'll have a Venusaur too. Possible that Ash trains with him? Doubt it though.

I hope that this suppossed Venusaur isn't in the jungle fight.

I hope that it doesn't teach Sceptile Solarbeam.

I hope that... it blows up?

Well, it sorta fits, seeing as Venusaur (apparently in this ep) can be found in jungles. I'd like to see Spenser have a Tropius that Sceptile battles against.

Anyway, away from the off-topicness, if Spenser's in the ep, what role will he have?

We've only just seen one and it's what messed sceptile up! Still, sceptile could get its "groove" back in this episode and a battle against a sceptile could remind it of the one from the episode where it evolved and totally throw it off its game. Oh, the possibilities...

This ep might have sceptile think about tropius and Meganium, so if he sees one in the Battle Palace, he may wanna get revenge on tropiuses like Tetsuya's Meowth did with someone's Persian in the Hoenn League battles.

Where the heck did you get the idea that if Spencer appears, he will have a Venusaur? That makes no sense to me at all. But if Venusaur appears, it makes it likely Ash will call up Bayleef.
But I want to see Slaking and Crobat.
The moves Sceptile is most likely to learn are Detect, Solarbeam, Slam, and maybe Dragon Claw.
Well worst case scenerio in this episode to me is Ash yelling "Sceptile use iron tail!"
Dude, don't scare me like that!

Thats a good moveset, so hopefully it comes off, the old moves were good but it needed a change if you ask me.

Would be a cool dub title then: "How Sceptile Got Its Groove Back"

EDIT: Rather than make another post and be bad like that...

I'd like to see Sceptile get Bullet Seed and Leaf Blade (since that's my favorite Grass move) back along with Quick Attack. Maybe learn something a bit defensive like Leech Seed or Detect. But my vote would go to Dragon Claw.

Now that's Effulgent
Like many others dragon claw would be so awesome, but maybe also detect as a defesnive move.

Sceptile, it's time you've got your groove back!

pardon the misspelling of her name if i did but you get the point.

Mew2

Team Rocket's Enemy
I wouldn't mind seeing Ash's Sceptile learning Double Team. With his already high speed, Double Team will make hitting Sceptile even harder. It will perfectly augment Sceptile's powerful attacks. Other attacks that I'd like to see him get are Dragon Claw and maybe Leech Seed and Solar Beam as well. With that assortment of moves, in addition to the moves he knew as a Grovyle, he would be a powerhouse that may even be able to rival Charizard.
