Altering Cave Speculation

I just thought of something; remember altering cave in R/S/FR/LG/E? What if, when you insert Diamond or Pearl into the DS card slot with one of those games in the GBA game slot, something happens in altering cave, like a poke'mon appearing there, or a secret chamber being revealed? Just a thought. Discuss.

It would be a fun extra, and incredibly easy to implement. I really hope D/P can be used to activate some of the unreachable, "hidden" features of FR/LG/Em. (A G/S/C-style Mystery Gift comes to mind. Perhaps with the Tickets as extremely rare prizes. )

I could see it happening, but honestly, what's the point? I'm sure they will insist on us trading the old Pokemon into this game for us to use rather than adding extras into the game that would allow us to circumvent the usage of that feature. That's not to say I wouldn't enjoy this feature, though: quite to the contrary, in fact, I'm sure this would be a fun tidbit to add. Yet, at the same time, the lack of economic gain to be had from this - the trade feature does this job better and everybody that wants R/S/E/FR/LG already has it - makes me believe they won't try out this feature again.

I don't think Deoxys maybe a pokemon like Lucario, or even might insert pokemon from whatever catridge you put in. That's if they want to do that.

Hey, I'm all for the idea that D/P could actually activate the appearance of more than simple (and annoying) Zubat for once in the older games. It'd be nice to have that take place, but I doubt Nintendo would do it.

Well, I for one wouldn't trade all my old Pokemon to the new games.

The old games wouldn't decrease in playability, and I have Pokemon in each game that I wouldn't dare think about putting them anywhere else.

Instead, I would raise up Pokemon to put into the new games, and maybe in return, I would get Pokemon with moves they previously didn't know.

I think this idea though is a good one, and I hope they do something similar to that. Hopefully, they won't neglet the old games, and still appreciate them for what they are.

Maybe something like a secret passage opens up and either you could chose either a Kabuto/Omanyte/Aerodactyl fossil or just you find Wild Larvitar or Smoochum or Misdreavus or a stronger young Pokemon or you find the 3 wild dogs and you have to pick one and the others flee. All would be pretty cool

Great idea! Maybe some rare items, one of the other legendary dogs, some really rare Pokemon, Pokemon not found in the certain version...if nintendo does this then EVEN more people will be inclined to buy Diamond/Pearl

I'd rather have the Altering Cave do something like contain things during special WiFi events, like an item needed to go to an island to get a legendary pokemon.

this is the first pokemon game to come out on the DS were there is a double slot, so by inserting your DP cartrage and a R/S/E/Fr/Lg the lowest in the evo line may be able to be found in the equivilant of altering cave after actervaiting mystery gift on both games?
it could work like this becuase a pokemon game has never before been made to run on the DS, and the double slot would beable to activate something like this.

There should be like a mystery cave which theres a reward at the end in D/Pm every month you download from wifi and the cave changes and theres a new item at the end.
