Everybody know that the game only goes on when you beat or do something:you only reach mewtwo when you beat e4,and only get rayquaza after you beat e4 and keeps going...

but what if you lost a battle with a gym leader?would the change your way on the game?or will the game just reset when we do things by the wrong way?

No probably you will white out and go to the Pokemon center and you can re challenge that gym leader again.

I understand what you mean, that would be very intresting. Although i can't see them doing that, perhaps they may with a thew events in the game but other then that they won't, no.

But i can see where your coming from and yes it would be a very good idea.

While I'm not big on that idea... remember, they did use this system before in Pokemon Yellow (depending on how you faired in the early battles with the rival, he will end up with a different Eeveelution). I do think it'd be great to have more branching plots in Pokemon... it'd make writing strategy guides really annoying, mwahaha. When facing a gym leader, you work hard to make sure you win, and you are destined to win, anyhow.

actually...it was changed to whited out in RSE...o_O

I think that this idea could work. Having different outcomes depending on what you do is a good idea...makes things seem just a little bit more realistic.

No, it's called whiting out, die and you'll see that it doesn't say black out.

I think that safely say that you are the worst poster on Serebii, come on!!! Have you ever heard of data storage? Even though the DS cartirage has a lot of room, it still can't fit that that much paths in the game without making it the same quality as R/S/E. That's bad by the way.

We're not asking for 100+ different paths.

I like this idea. It would give the game a lot more replay value. I defiantly agree with the Gym Leaders, If you loose once they should at least say: "So, You're back for a rematch?"

Bring it.
It would have been funny if the volcano on Mt. Chimney explodes if you lose to Maxie/Archie and you have to make a treanch to stop the lava or sumthing. But itz not going to happen. But we can hope.

What does this thread have to do with the title, "Alternate Histories"? The title doesn't fit the discussion.

I'm sure that in one game, when you lost to a gym leader or the Elite 4, they had a different message. So it's kinda already happened.

They won't do this. All the RPG's are programmed to follow their storylines, as they can't programme 5647658798 paths in the game. While, indeed, having to beat the evil team AGAIN because a GYM leader mysteriously disappeared EXACTLY at that time is annoying, it has an appealing side. D=

...Be grateful that we can choose the pokemon in our party, too. Pokemon has more replayability than most RPGs because of that.

Who said i was suggesting 5647658798 paths?
Im suggesting somethign not very different from Yeloow and the rival, just as you lost to a gym leader and you had to won a new badge to battle eith him her again

I had to clean up that quote. lol

Anyways, you're saying that if you lose to a Gym Leader and when you speak to them again, they won't battle you? Then you insist that we have to do a small task in order to re-battle them again? And if we do battle them after the task is done, their party will have another variety of Pokemon of the type they use for the Gym?
