It could be worth to have a thread to discuss with the current events happening of MPM. Something is being built up with Latias and it seems fair to being this up with that.

Hey there, I'm one of the veteran Altoshippers from this board all the way back to 2004! I too heard about Latias' return and I'm incredibly excited. I hope they give us some kind of hint that they're still close. And I'm also currently watching Matpat's theory as I type this actually. I would love to contribute to this thread. I'm also thinking about finishing my 14 year old shipping fic True Love Never Fades. A lot of people seemed to like it and with Latias likely returning, I feel kind of inspired.
By the way, the ship for Latias x Ash is called Altoshipping. Bianca x Ash was Mareshipping. There is no Altomareshipping as far as I'm aware.

I also finally watched the two episodes of Pokemon: Aim to be a Pokemon Master with near perfect English translations, and I'm so convinced that it's movie 5 Latias!
Obviously there had to be some sort of conflict that they need to resolve between them. They can't just have Latias follow him around like a lovesick puppy.
Still kind of in shock that Latias beat Misty to the shippy moments. Latias was in episode 1 and Misty didn't show up until episode 2 for goodness sakes! Sure, Misty will have a more significant role in most of the episodes, but I dunno... we're doing pretty well so far with how much Ash doted on Latias, and how she even responded to it eventually. I had a near perfect translation of episode 2 as well and

- Ash recognizes her for SURE! He even asked her what was wrong point blank when all she was doing was seeming hostile toward him, like HE knew the behavior was strange for her.
- What are the odds that they'd decide to introduce an entirely different Latias? Makes little sense.
- I think it's just been too long since she last saw him, and she's been through too much. Also, she got hit pretty hard in the air and was possibly disoriented.
- You can tell Latias has the same affinity for him. I think there was a spark of realization when he got hit by the electricity while trying to rescue her from the icy globe. It was almost a "this is my knight in shining armor" way she saw him for a second.
- When she grabbed and flew with him and they held hands, you could tell she was kind of in shock, like she was experiencing old feelings.
- When she flew away at the end, she didn't revert to a "BAKA!" like tsundere personality. She just floated away with a really confused look in her eyes, like, "I need to process this."

Misty spent the entire episode pining for a Clauncher, practically calling it her soulmate and caring about little else.

Been meaning to post in here but kept forgetting. While I would like for revived Altoshipper thread, I don't believe there is enough Altoshippers left after all of this time to allow for an active thread.
Since I am here, might as well talk about the ship. As some of you folks might have guessed, I'm an Altoshipper, and have been one since the original DVD release of Heroes in 2004. I don't know why but it has been the only ship that truly clicked with me in any franchises, no other ship does anything for me outside of it just being cute, and I'm pretty sure it is the closest thing I have to an OTP. You dudes don't know how much it warms my heart about that Heroes cameo at the end of MPM 10, it gave the city, Bianca, and the Guardian Latias their main anime debut after almost 21 years since the film came out as well as undeniably canonized the events of the film, especially the kiss. <3

I was a little disappointed, to be honest. Throughout the entire 3 months the episodes were airing, I had worked myself up and down from believing that the first Latias was M05 Latias with amnesia, to just hoping he'd catch the new Latias and thinking at least that would be cute, to learning that we'd see Alto Mare and M05 Latias again, to seeing it was just a cameo of her in human form swinging.
I was so badly hoping they'd see each other again and interact a little bit. It just felt like a reference... like it doesn't make much sense for Latias to even be in human form when she's in the secret garden. She just did it that one time to kind of not spring it on Ash until she was ready. But I suppose it could be taken that she likes Ash so much still that she's staying human more often because someday she'll see him again and she wants to be used to taking a form that matches his. Kind of a stretch though.
When you get down to it, the series felt more comical and referential with things happening that made you remember past events more than a wrap-up or something consequential. A lot of people are saying that Latias' appearance on the swing canonized movie 5 once and for all, but other things had done that too. Besides, the series felt silly enough that what if IT is actually non-canon. The first anime season to not be. It's just a random assortment of memories that take us back. I don't know! It was what it was. I'll still continue to be an Altoshipper and I guess at least they acknowledged her somehow. That's more than some people got, like the Amourshippers.
HI. Long time Pokémon fan here. Used to be a casual AshxMisty shipper until Pokémon Heroes came out. I gotta say, no girl has ever portrayed genuine feelings for Ash better than Latias has. She is so beautiful, not to mention cute. And the way Ash played with her and defended her in the movie gives the slight impression of him returning the feelings, even if it doesn't outright say it. Would like to join this community. Took me twenty years to find it. I've also just written a full length Altoship fanfic of anyone is interested.
