Hey this is my first post so bare with me.
I am read the rules and searched the forum for any one else with this problem but no one had the same problem.
To set the scene; i am a poor wee student and recently got into the pokemon games. I bought Fire Red off of Amazon.co.uk, used/new section(it was a unused secondhand game I bought with out the adaptor). The game came and i put it into my DS and it worked fine, it is going smoothly and I had to go and saved it. Returned to my game to find the game displaying save file deleted when I try acess my saved file, So I started again and it did the same thing again. Am I boring you lot yet?
I have checked to make sure it wasnt something like sunlight or water damage and I am certain it isn't any out side factor as it happens everytime, and even if I just turn the game off and on. I have also noted that the game save can be re-opened from the start screen if you restart the game by holding down the start, select, a and b buttons. So it is just when the power is turned off that the save file is deleted.
I am not too familar with the history of the games but I believe there was a few glitches with the game to do with saving so I assigned the game to having that problem but I can't find any evidence of this problem in the glitches thread, serebii website or on google. So I guess it is something else.
I half suspect that it is a pirate version of the game, because the cartridge didn't really fit comfortably into the GBA slot unlike Pokemon Emerald. It didn't really come with the same bumf I got with emerald (but I could put that down to the game being second hand), and the booklets I did get are poor printed quality. The vendor I bought it off has multiple copies of all the pokemon games that don't come with the wireless adaptor. The one thing that could be the telling point as to if the game is fake is that game cartridge for Fire Red is coloured black with a Fire Red sticker on it, while I thought it would be Red, should it be red?
I emailed the vendor and told him my problem and he was willingly going to replace it as if it was a regular occurance that happened to him. I want to know before I spend more money on sending the game back if it a fake game or not. If it is fake I will buy it from another website and report the vendor to amazon. Being the scrounging student I am, I want to save as much money as I can so can some one help before I either loose £14 or have to spend another £25 to get a pokemon fix.
Please don't eat me if this is the complete wrong forum to go in, I am young and confused! honest!
