Ambush Guide

On serebii it was spoken about: a major battle with tons of strong pokemon. This is false, it can occur anywhere in the game. for myself, it occurred at Mankey Forest. The following guide should help you out a bit, shall we begin?



1- Ambush battles give you more of a chance of getting a pokemon to join your force.

2- Ambush battles also cut down on the enemies of the area, which can be a good thing.

3- Ambush battles can help give you a lot more EXP.




Bad parts of Ambush Battles



1- Extremely Hard

2- Tend not to drop items

3- Three or four pokemon can gang up on each member of your party.





At this point my best idea is stick it out, if a battle starts and your low on HP, use Tactics to sneak out.

Sadly, I don't go there, intened to go, or even want to go there. Anyways: new info on ambush



Almost everytime(ALMOST being the key word) you will fight an ambush battle on the 7th floor of Mankey Dungeon

Are they completely random or is there certain things that contribute to getting them more often?

Ooh, I got one. And wow, they were kinda tough. For some reason, my encounter came with a whole bunch of scattered items on the ground. Is that what you meant by "rewards" or do they drop more items as well?

This is not true to me. :/

2- Ambush battles also cut down on the enemies of the area, which can be a good thing.

3- Ambush battles can help give you a lot more EXP.

You gain more exp because just killing it with A button gives normal exp and using move or fused moves will gain double to triple exp.

Enemies drop items because they have picked up the items in other rooms on the same floor. Sometimes you can see a message saying which pokemon pick up which item.

3- Three or four pokemon can gang up on each member of your party.

Usually when you just enter a room, they appear suddenly and if you move, you cannot attack them while moving but they can attack and you will die easily. I usually stay at the entrance of the room and just let them come and use Sleep Powder+Leech Seed (fused) to put all the pokemon that surround me, i.e. 5 pokemon to sleep and slowly kill them.


At this point my best idea is stick it out, if a battle starts and your low on HP, use Tactics to sneak out.

It isn't true for you because its RANDOM or also, your teams a high level, msot encounters are at a low level


All this info was absied off of my game, my friends game, and my other friends game. All of the other info the suer can asume, it's called reading in-between the lines. Please don't try to make me find something Ive missed, this guide is almost flawless,(notice the ALMOST).

Ambush are VERY common in Ho-oh dungeon. I just got like 5 in a row (on 5 floors, of course)
