and i heard there will be a pokemon XY movie in 2016 and its Zygarde, the good news is it means we still have 1 more year for pokemon XY Series, More Amourship , Tease Etc but the bad news is it means that Gen 7 might coming in Next Year AFter this movie which means ending for XY Series >.<

Those Spanish subs often contain errors, plus I'm not sure if I understand what "I will get closer to Ash" means in that particular context. Hopefully we'll get subs for this episode from [PM] sometime in the next week-ish.

I feel she meant it in a love/romantic-ish sense... I don't know how to put it, lol. >_< I could be wrong of course, that's just my opinion.

Well, we are talking about "Amour"shipping anyway, and France is considered as the city of love (and Kalos is based off France) so French Ash is acceptable.

in defense for the British one, the french are born to be this cheesy so this is just standard stuff haha, but i do wish the British one were like this to be fair but i like the way the English version is, they're not being cheesy and just playing it cool, but still adding some hints to help spice things up a little.

Would you rather see Serena confess or would you rather see Ash confessing instead?
I would rather have Serena do it...if Satoshi confessed, it would be seem SO weird and OOC for me. For Serena, it would show how much she's grown in confidence. I can't really say much on the current status of their relationship since they're still currently just close friends. Someone give me more interactions between them, then I'll try to judge it. But we've hardly had interactions with JUST those two, like alone..similar to XY040 (the cliff episode if I'm correct?). I want more of that right now Maybe the snow mountain episode (XY083) will change that but i doubt it...

Hmmm, makes me think. I admit that I haven't really watched the anime that well since my classes started, so that's why I can't really look into the interactions that well But yeah, that's no excuse for me. Now to answer, as much as I want Ash to do the confessing given that there is development on his side, I'd like to see Serena do it. If I'm not mistaken, this ship has pretty much been part of her character development, and I feel that her development would be incomplete without her saying the words. Heck, even something that would make me imply some positive development would suffice for me. I do hope that I did make some point.

Lol. I couldn't imagine, either. I did watch the AG series in Filipino dub, and that's not how a normal anime sounds like. I don't know how it would turn out with XY series though, more so with Amoutshipping or any external pushes.

Would rather Serena confess. I'm not saying that Satoshi confessing is impossible. It's not really his 'thing' to confess his feelings to a girl, given that he is one of the densest characters in all of anime. Without romantic development on his side, I don't see him confessing any time soon.

You can make the case for both Ash and Serena. On one hand, Ash should do it due to surprise element that can be effectively put in during the very end of the XY series when the gang will depart to their respective places and Serena will go through a series of emotions on missed opportunities (before Ash springs the 'surprise' confession).

On the other hand, I'd prefer that Serena make the confession instead, purely because of the major subplot/plot in the series that focuses on Serena's character development. She started out as a shy girl who had no goals and lacked confidence/commitment; now she is developing to be more self-confident and having commitment to her goal to be Kalos Queen. In developing her character, we can hope that Serena becomes confident enough to look past her fears of being friend-zoned and just 'take a dive' - take the chance to let Ash know how she feels about him. Because of character development, it makes much more sense to have Serena be the one to make the confession because (after all) she is the one with the feelings first.

There's is no way I see Ash confessing, that's just not his character, he's too focused on becoming Pokemon Master than trying to find him a lady. So yeah, I want to see Serena confess. Maybe when their both alone at the very end of the series then Serena would go all confession mode and stuff and “Love Her" City's theme start playing, boom. Amour becomes canon and they all live happily ever after

Hmm, I guess I'm the only one who would rather see Ash confess. Well, I understand that it's pretty much out of character for him but that will also give a big surprise in his character (I love surprises). I mean, imagine at the end of the series when they are going to part ways, Ash suddenly tells Serena that he likes her more than just a friend (It doesn't really need to be as romantic as a straight "I love you". A subtle yet obvious confession would suffice). He then proceeds to saying things like he'd never felt anything like this before and that at 1st he was confused and now he finally understands. Well, something like that (Whew, fanfic writers, there's an idea over there! ). After all, given how much hints he had already provided for amour, I think something like this is not that hard for him to do in the future. Another reason why I'd rather see this than Serena confessing is because,this pretty much guarantees the ship being canon. If Serena confesses, there's still a big chance that Ash will reject her, on the other hand, if Ash confesses, it's a very slight chance that Serena will reject. I mean, why would she? The boy that he loves actually loves her as well.

Of course that is not to say that I don't want to see Serena confess. As you guys have said, her feelings for Ash had been a part of her character and it's been a huge help in developing her character. I just really feel like Ash confessing instead is one of the best thing and plot-twist in the history of anime.

Dubs are among the strangest things that mankind has created.

Also, the last Amourshipping thread was closed because people weren't following the rules. I'm not trying to mini-mod, but someone needed to point that out.

Honestly i don't mind seeing either of them being honest with each other about how they feel. Only because if they do confess feelings either way it's still going to be romantic no matter how you see it (unless you're not a ship fan). If you take a think of this, this program has gone on for what like 17? I feel like this ship would bring more old fans back and bring in newer once, also having Serena as a second protagonist it brings a new face to the company which will be cool. however, if the ship does canon I want to see Ash grow up, like be in his teens like 15?

Reasons why i would like Serena to confess her feelings:

1. It'll show she has started gaining confidence

2. It'll show that she's now comfortable about Ash and not too shy

3. It'll show good character development

Reasons I want Ash to confess:

1. Because it'll show that Ash has grown up a little and got his mind set on other things other than being a Pokemon master.

2. Because it'll be a nice shock to all pokemon fans (that's actually watched it for a long time)

3. Lastly, because it shows that having Ash's bargain of the ship build up so slowly that he's the oblivious, doesn't seem that much of a waste of time of the ship.

Reasons I don't care who confesses:

1. Because it'll be something fresh and new after like 15 years of watching

2. Because it just shows the ship is actually successful for once in the Pokemon franchise

3. The whole point of this ship is to support the current speculation of Ash finally getting a girlfriend, that's what we're supporting i don't think it should matter who confesses in my books as long as the ship happens then i'm pretty happy either way.

Honestly, I wouldn't even touch the Filipino dub of Pokemon. it just sounds way too weird for me and I'm Filipino. But I believe the Filipino dub translates the English dub, instead of the Japanese. Cuz I specifically remember seeing one episode (i forget which season, but it was old), and they used the English opening and English Pokemon voices. It's weird cuz the Philippine dubbing studios usually get the original Japanese material. But with the Pokemon, they get the English version...guess its an availability thing.

..in relation to Amour, I would see them just attempting to translate whatever was from English dub to begin with. I was surprised with the French dub actually, and I wonder if there are any more cultural implications to that. I guess it depends how far they wanna push the ship for a particular audience...

If Satoshi were to confess, I think it would have to be in a way that won't jolt us viewers, which brings me to this question (it might have been asked already but I dont wanna have to check all the way back).

If Satoshi was going to confess to Serena while staying in character, how do you think he would do it?

As for the one-liners thing, who is getting the warning, the entire thread or the person who committed the one-liner? Sorry I'm just curious. I don't exactly want this thread getting closed again because a few members decide it's ok to post a one-liner.

It depends on what kind of 'help' Eureka would give.

More explicit actions like ask Satoshi's hands in behalf of Serena would be ok in a more advanced time in the series.

More subtle actions, like talking about romance with Satoshi to get clues that could help Serena, would be taken right now.

I'm curious

If you were Ash, will you be able to pick up the hints Serena drops? If so, will you let her know? Provided that YOU (as Ash) have feelings for Serena, how will you show your affection?

Well if that supernova blushes on her face were visible, then surely I could get all that hints - even with that 4 light-year thick Amour armour that Satoshi wears. I would not be so direct in response. I'd give her back some hints: for example could pick a beautiful flower at random to give her; talk about the Professor Oak's summer camp; compliment her look and achievements; try to spend more time with her...

and of course, I'd ask Citron to make a citronic gear that reveals the feelings of a person to wich the machine is pointed toward the device operator so that Serena could use it on me.

Questions:

1. If Ash were to drop hints, what kind of hints would you like him to drop? (exclude things that Serena has already done)

2. If Serena were to repay Ash for his gift he gave her in episode 59 (the blue ribbon) what do you think she'd give? (something shippy just to stay on topic plz)

3. If Serena became the next Brock (meaning lasting like 4 Generations) what would you like to see progress shipping wise, whether the ship has happened or if it hasn't?

4. Seems Bonnie has dropped a hint that she knows about Serena do you feel as if this may change the ship at all from both Serena and Ash's point of views?

5. Do you feel like Miette does actually like Ash or do you think she just wants to make a feud with Serena, Also if she were to travel with them one day like a one time thing do you think she'd try get close to Ash in order to make Serena jealous or do you think she'd just secretly tease Serena without him realizing it, or even a mix of both?

6. Lastly, what is you opinion of this ships progress so far from episode one to current episode?

1. A tender look at her - on that means "wow, how amazing and beautiful she is".

2. A basket full of pofflè and macaroons. That she gives Satoshi in his mouth. : )

4. Yes. Probably she will do things to make them closer. What exactly (try to let them alone, tease Serena, talk to her, talk to Satoshi...) is much more speculative.

5. It is soon to tell. But Ross451 has a good point to suspect that Millefeui is just teasing Serena.

6. I still mantain my previous opinion: I'm ok with the progress so far.

I would do a kiss. I just feel like it's nessecary and the only way to really break Ash's Amour armor.

Well first, i'd build it up, so do what the writers are doing now, by just dropping hints once in while to help things go along while still focusing the main plot. Then once I feel like the both sides are now balanced, i would start with the confession and then end it all with a cheeky nando's .. Okay maybe a cheeky kiss xD

In regards to the cultural implications, one thing that struck me when I was at badminton today (apart from a shuttlecock, lol) was how typical Japanese attitudes may be reflected in the anime. I don't know if this has been mentioned at all before, but the Japanese are often taught that patience is very important, and that acting rash is looked down upon. While there's a significant part of Serena that could fear rejection, could these cultural implications also be a factor? I reckon she is reflecting this by playing a patient waiting game, waiting for her big moment to come. Naturally she is quite a patient and rarely rash character, and so while her confidence has been doubted at times, it could be equally credible to presume that the anime could be highlighting a sort of focus on a "good things come to those who wait" narrative where Serena will eventually take her opportunity.

As astonishing as it would be to see Ash confess, the crush is a trait mainly associated with Serena's character, so the chances are that any confession will be led by her. To answer the question If Amourshipping could be made canon how would you do it? (i.e. A kiss, confession etc.) then there's a variety of cute affectionate things I'd like to see; realistically however I see the Amour arc as something that will run through the entire XY saga subtly enough to flare up and take centre-stage once both Ash and Serena had completed their respective goals. I see it as Serena waiting for her big moment, rather than necessarily fearing rejection, despite previous jibes from Miette and Team Rocket.

I'd love to see Serena give him a kiss on the cheek (I just can't do the lips at their age), but I think a confession is the best way to go, because, and maybe I'm being silly, I could still see a kiss on the cheek not being enough to open his eyes. I don't know. *shrugs*
