An inaccurate steelix needs a decent item.

Sorry if this belongs in RMT or whatever... But I have an onix (which will soon be a steelix), but its moveset is very inaccurate in general. So I was wondering, is there any items obtainable in FR/LG that boost accuracy, even slightly?

It's hasty and it will have the moves: Screech, Iron Tail, Earthquake and Rock Slide. This isn't RMT, I just need an item which will help...

I can help your accuracy by doing one thing. Take out Iron tail. Having Rock Slide and Earthquake with Iron Tail is redundant, Rock Slide and Earthquake cover Iron Tails only effective types (rock and ice) and are far more accurate. Fill the other moves with Explosion and Roar.

Yes, it's X Accuracy, one of those anoying items barley no one uses. Other than that the ability Compound Eyes boosts accuracy, but only some bug pokemon learn it.

Yeah, but I really can't use explosion or roar correctly. The only challenges I face are my friends in colliseum, and we're usually doing double battle. So, I'm not sure.

Also, I don't want to EV train an onix to level 50 again. I just need a good item..

Sorry, I meant what item should it hold. ^_^;;

EDIT; Hmm, my onix has rock head. Shall I use double edge as it's more accurate but has the same power rating as STABed iron tail?

I dont think so. It's a wasted turn for a small increase of accuracy..

On topic: If you dont want to use Explosion go with Double-Edge without re-coil damage

and BTW, Steelix is not an offensive pokemon, so dont expect it to hit hard. It is a defensive wall and because of that, toxic will be a good move for it too.

Yeah, good idea, but I'm gonna put toxic on my venusaur.

Geodude: I like that idea. But as Firehead Hank said, it won't hit hard. Which I was I'm thinking of aiding it with screech.

I dont want to change your stragety or whatever, but Venusaur with Sleep Powder is more usefull(in combination with Synthesis,Leechseed and Sludge Bomb).

I was thinking of that, actually, which is why I kept sleep powder on it up to this point in time. But, I don't really want toxic on my steelix, so I could put it on my dusclops.

You should also consider Taunt for the last slot. (in place of Screech) It goes well with Steelix's uber Defense. It's useful for stopping things from setting up and for all the hax things you run across ingame.

Unless I'm mistaken, all of those moves except Earthquake have less than 100 accuracy. You should get some more accurate moves, I guess, since you can't make a pokemon hold X accuracy.

That's why Choice Band is there. That provides a permanent boost, as opposed to Screech which only lasts as long as the current opponent is in play.

If u have emerald, then get a scope lens, or just make your opponent hit less too with bright powder. :D

'clops should use WoW, not toxic. it does more the first turn, the same the second, and toxic catches up on the third. but WoW cuts the opponent's attack in half, so it's more useful.

toxic goes on shuckle.

does it have the ability rock head if it does give it double edge and it will not get the recoil effect

It increases critical hit ratio, not accuraccy.
Well, there's no accuraccy boosting hold items. Better you change the moveset if you have problem with the accuracy.

Steelix is too slow to use taunt in a curselax free enviroment.
