Sick of dealing with idiots.
The episode starts with Ash and co. having lunch on the Muraille Coast, with all of their Pokemon.

Serena shows a fishing rod to the rest of the group.

They all decided to go fishing.

Ash sits on a rock with Pikachu and Froakie and he has caught something on his fishing line.

He pulls it out and it is a Skrelp, covered in seaweed, Skrelp then attaches itself to Ash's face.

Ash pulls Skrelp off and Bonnie puts a bandaid on its head.

Skrelp jumps back into the water, before Ash checks it on his Pokedex.

The Skrelp then begins attacking.

Pikachu tries to calm the Skrelp, but Pikachu ends up getting hit with a Poison attack.

Pikachu has become poisoned, so Ash asks two people who are in a van on a nearby road for help.

Ash and co., including the two other people go to where Ash and his friends had lunch.

The two people, who are marine biologists, heal Pikachu back to health.

The man is called Eddie and the woman is called Lindsay.

The marine biologists tell Ash and co. about a sunken luxury liner, which they are trying to find.

Team Rocket overhear this and all they think about is stealing treasure from the ship.

Ash and co. go with the marine biologists on their boat/ship to go and find the ship.

While on the ship, Clemont reveals another invention of his.

The machine chooses who gets to go on the underwater exploration.

It's Ash and Serena vs. Clemont and Bonnie.

Ash and Serena win, leaving Clemont embarrassed and Bonnie annoyed.

Ash and Serena go with Lindsay underwater, in Lindsay and Eddie's submarine.

Clemont, Bonnie and Eddie stay in communication with the other group, I think.

Ash and Serena are excited to see the different kinds of Pokemon underwater.

Ash's group end up finding the sunken ship.

Ash ends up spotting a Dragalage and he checks it on his Pokedex.

He finds out that it is the evolved form of Skrelp.

Dare Da? Skrelp.

Team Rocket are in their Magikarp submarine and use some invention to cut a hole in the sunken ship.

Ash sees the Magikarp sumbarine.

He remembers the golden Magikarp submarine that Team Rocket used two episode ago.

He figures that it must be Team Rocket.

Team Rocket enter the ship and they start walking through a hallway.

Ash's group then end up inside the ship as well and come across a group of Skrelp and Dragalge.

Ash's group comes across Team Rocket.

Team Rocket puts an explosive device on the ship, I think.

Ash sends out Froakie to battle Team Rocket.

Team Rocket leave and then so do Ash and co.

The sunken ship starts to fall.

The underwater Pokemon and Froakie decide to help push the ship back to where it was.

Froakie is captured by a robotic arm that comes from Team Rocket's submarine.

The arm throws it at the Skrelp which Ash encountered earlier.

The rest of the underwater Pokemon successfully put the ship back to where it used to be underwater.

A board is put over a hole in the ship.

Some Dragalge attach the board to the ship with a Poison attack.

Team Rocket's submarine is now at the ocean's surface and then they blast off.

Ash's Froakie and the Skrelp from earlier are stuck in a whirlpool.

Froakie decided to be brave and jump along the debris in the whirlpool, to safety.

As the sun set's, Ash's group are back on the boat where Clemont's group was.

Ash and co. say goodbye to Skrelp and I think Bonnie said something about Froakie.

To be continued.

Ash saw Froakie jumping across the debris to safety and thought it would be useful for his battle with Grant. It's just one small part at the end of the episode, but it's relevant to how things play at vs Grant and against Korrina as well.

They did not retcon the episode. I was actually surprised at first that they didn't, but that bit at the end explained why (that and they would've had to go back and edit out Fletchling).

So was this retconned in any way? If not i'm glad that it was kept in the same place as XY024.

Well, Fletchling was there, a mention of Muraille Coast, battle against Cyllage Gym, etc so it was not retconned, I guess it still remains as XY024, the mess will be with the dub, they'll probably ranks this ep. as S1750.

The bias against megazard Y is showing here. Last episode they make it lose against Latias-M but here Gallade-M is shown to be slightly inferior to megazard X.The episode its self was fine. The idea of jumping on rock tomb was shown here and the titanic reference was also pretty nice.

I don't really understand the point of this episode.

It would fit more if we had a spin-off anime adaptation of Pokemon Ranger (as rangers always tend to have some underwater missions.)

Maybe there is a reason for airing this, that we would know about in the future.
Like a certain technique used at the Cyllage and Shalour Gyms being inspired by the events in this episode.
Don't really get complaints about the rearing. We'd have gotten a break or rerun most likely if we didn't get it here plus Draglage is a majestic creature. Still hung up that Ash didn't catch that Skrelp.

Let's go to the beach, each.
Sigh. As I expected, this was a bland filler imho. I was surprised that Dragalge was so big though, and I was disappointed by the roles that Clemont and Bonnie got here. Anyway, the Cussler subplot was just very generic in my view, but I did cackle when Froakie showed up on the Magikarp sub's periscope and when the sub ended up in a whirlpool.

Well to be honest the episode isn't bad. The only reason why I feel some people didn't like it was because it was aired out of order (to be fair though the episode didn't air due to very legitimate reasons).

I finally had the time to watch this and it was a good enough episode imo. The lack of retconning didn't bother me and I enjoyed the Skrelp line animated. I kind of wished Clemont and Bonnie did more but that didn't knock much points off. Finally, I loved how this was episode that inspired Ash to do the jumping strategy in Grant's match, despite the episode airing out of order.

Overall a 9/10

TSS_Killer talked with Tom Wayland at PokeCon 2015 Louisville, KY and he confirmed that XY24 English dub will air in the same order as the Japanese airing. This means the episode will air as the second episode of the second XY dub series. He also confirmed as of last weekend (January 9th-January 11th, 2015), the title of the second English dub series is NOT finalized and is still tentative.

To make this very clear, airing order does not mean chronological order or Production order.

Follow up info to the above post - finalized dub titles and air dates

An Undersea Place to Call Home! (XY024) - Feb. 21 (Note: Dub title is still the same as announced before the episode was postponed)

A Stealthy Challenge! (XY052) - Feb. 28

However, no title for the second season of the dub series...yet

Your Big Buff Bro
I shouldn't be surprised this episode was placed with the second season, and its opening, but its a weird way to place it here. Especially when Ash had already defeated Grant, and his Fletchling evolved.

But either way, this episode isn't too exciting. If only Ash had put that Skrelp on his team, but oh well.

Japan did the same thing, they're used to delayed anime episodes.
