You have to use the Wii's Clock to prevent harmful side effects.
Edit: My game hates and loves me at the same time.
It just gave me two Sharks within 20 minutes, and a hammer head 30 minutes beforehand.
The annoying part is I am searching for an Ocean Sunfish. >=(
Edit: And, 5 minutes later, I get two Butterfly fish in a row. Within the same minute.
