They had fish and birds in the show (not pokemon), but I dont know if they eat those, or pokemon?

With all the constant protection laws for Pokemon being enforced in the anime I seriously doubt they eat Pokemon. I'm guessing they merely eat normal animals, animals that are kept off the screen to avoid confusion. I recall chicken being mentioned once.

Makes you wonder doesnt it, mabye the people of the Pokemon world traveled there from our world, bringing animals and crops with them to raise and eat? Like settling in a new place (like what happened with America)

I subscribe to the theory that yes, they do eat Pokémon and whatnot because they're the Pokéverse's equivilant to our animals. I mean, Pokémon eat other Pokémon (the flavor text on one of the older Pidgeotto cards confirms this). Why couldn't the humans eat Pokémon, too?

I also go by the *SPECIAL manga rather the anime, too... So that could be it.

The Pokedex always references real animals even now.
It's probably too hard to remove all reference points in the anime aswell.

there were many threads like this so I always answer...
...first, they slaughter one innocent Tauros/Miltank and make it a hotdog/burger/etc. then food companies raise and breed many Dittos and they let the Dittos copy the food and spray a kind of gas that makes the paralyzes the dittos and let them be a hotdog/burger/etc forever!!...hehe

...maybe that's the truth in the Pokemon world...hehehe

I guess they eat pokes... But some specially breeded and grown up fr that. Like you know, you don't eat a wild chicken normally, just a farm or something like that chicken.
