You should have made this thread with the episodes that they animated.

Here is Masaaki Iwane's: DP006, DP011, DP016, DP021, DP026, DP031, DP033, DP039, DP042, DP046, DP052, DP057, DP061, DP066, DP072, DP076, DP081, DP086, DP091, DP096, DP102, DP108, DP112, DP118, DP124, DP129, DP132, DP137, DP142, DP146, DP152, DP157 and DP162.

I just looked on Bulbapedia for them. I'm assuming that this is for the DP episodes. If you need the other episodes, look on Bulbapedia or some other place.

While I don't know off the top of my head who directed what episode, I can certainly tell the quality difference in some of the episodes.

I'm working off memory here, but I remember seeing some choppy transitions while watching the debut episode of Ash's Gible.

Thank you, SPPf! :)
It should be noted that Takeuchi (who's really good) and Furukawa (who's passable) have only started directing recently but have churned out several episodes by now. I see them sticking around.

You know what would be really helpful? If somebody could make a few GIFs. That way we could actually critique the animation instead of simply still frames (which are generally difficult to judge quality from).

Um...which episode was done by Shinjo? Is that the Poffin episode?

In DP series he animated episodes- DP002,DP007,DP013,DP019,DP025,DP050,DP056,DP082,DP139,DP145 .
I think his animation is good but the face of the people are pretty different.

Tamagawa is my favorite but he doesn't do as much episodes. Iwane I guess is the one that makes the best battles and is really fluid.

I love Nastusme though. Great facial expressions.

I think that Natsume's animation is little different when the friends are smiling, especially Dawn if you notice.

I love Iwane, as most people do simply because the battles look pretty damn amazing.

Izumi Shimura, on the other hand, I hate with a passion simply because how how she draws Ash. He just looks... terrible. It may sound stupid, but I honestly get incredibly annoyed whenever she does an episode.

Her representation of the other characters isn't exactly on the top of my most awesome list either.

DP156, right? Akihiro Tamagawa animated the episode. The episode where Ash catches Gible, DP157, was done by Iwane.

Ahhh, I honestly wish Tamagawa animated more episodes. All the episodes he's done have been absolutely amazing. I can't choose a favorite from his episodes. :x

The rest of the animators are ok, but only a few of 'em. Kazue Kinoshita is my least favorite AD. I can't stand his work. ._.

Kazue Kinoshita is, by far, my least favorite. She just draws the characters incredibly awkward looking and flat.

Masaki Iwane and Akihiro Tamagawa are favorites. Their outlining is excellent and their coloring is also very stylish. Their action scenes are also really epicly drawn.

While Kunihiko Natsume is horrible with the characters, I love her backgrounds and they look rather real.

Question, has Toshihito Hirooka done any episodes besides Tears for Fears and the Brandon VS Paul one? For all my life, I can't recall at all any other episodes he's done. They were very nicely drawn from what I remember.

And yes, I do suck very much at trying to discuss things :p.

I find it weird how Kazue Kinoshita does not draw the characters that great yet apparently she is considered a main animation director.

Masaaki Iwane is by far my favorite. It probably would have been cooler for him to do DP163 over DP162 but both episodes are very important. At least Izumi Shimaru did a good job with DP163. Aside from Iwane, I am starting to like Izumi and Akihiro since they did do a good job on DP163 and DP156 respectively.

Hirooka has done DP053 (Tears for Fears), 085 (Gligar evo), 098 (Lickilicky/Aoi), 105 (Rotom, although in this one Taguchi also was credited as AD), 111 (second episode of Riley and Lucario), 117 (Team Rocket episode with noodles) & 128 (Brandon vs Paul). I really like his work too, it's a shame he doesn't animate episodes regularly like he did in AG.

Although Tamagawa is kind of "better" than Iwane, the fact that he animates very few episodes makes me like Iwane a little bit more. Both are fantastic, and it is always a pleasure when two important episodes get them as "one-hour candy treat". You know, like DP060/DP061 and the Riolu/J episodes.

Izumi Shimura is like the "average" of animation. Sometimes the episodes look better (DP101) and sometimes they look worse (DP153) but almost all the time, his (or her?) work is "standard". Although I think he has improved a lot over the time. For example, the Verdanturf Contest in AG (the battle between Skitty and Dusclops) wasn't as good as almost all his work in the current DP.

Kinoshita is... well, a nice way to make Iwane not animate fillers. She has definitely improved (things like DP055 are really bad while episodes like DP100 aren't as bad), but I still think she needs to keep away from important episodes.

Takeda is really the worse. She has been in the show from almost the beginning and on the opposite side of the coin, she is worse. Glad Takeda isn't animating a lot anymore. (Although her name is still listed as Key Animator in some Shimura episodes).

I love Natsume (and Shinjo) style. They can make an episode stand-out. I really enjoy their episodes and random shots they give to us -like DP109 or DP095.

I really miss Taguchi. He was a great one. And from even deeper in the past, Tokuda. He was really really awesome.

I think that the problem of Kinoshita is the faces of the characters. It's different and little bad animated.

Yes I think that Iwane is doing the most important episodes lately because they know that he is the best. DP 146 (Dawn's contest), DP 152 (The final of Galactic), DP 157 (Ash VS Barry and Gible's capture), DP 162 (The contest part 2). And he will probably will do the gym battle.

Who did the Hikari vs Ayako episode? I remember loving the animation done with Quick Attack and Swift.

And is it me or was the asatsuki contest more "GF-animation level"? I felt like it was better (at least part 2) than any of Dawn's other contests.

Izumi Shimura did this episode. Yes, I think she is the most senior AD in the anime so far.
I wonder how Hiroyuki Furukawa and Kazue Kinoshita will animate Volkner. We know how Kinoshita is animating the characters in the show, it will be probably the same as he did Fantina.
