Come to think of it, I think you could be right. It did come from ...a bookstore that sells DVDs, though. It looks legit. Thing is, bootlegs won't normally be sold in bookstores, from my cousin & moi's experience, at least. Then I suppose I should be grateful I didn't have $ with me. =D
Well, the easy way to spot the bootleg is the way the DVD set opens. If it folds open twice, like a typical season boxset of a drama series here in the states, then it's likely to be one. Make sure to look over the box for the Bandai logo too. And bootlegs will be sold anywhere, every store I go in, if there's anime there, there is more than likely at least one bootleg. I went into a store the other day and found the whole series of Inuyasha as a bootleg. Just be careful. dammit i ranted again

lol What stores are these?

From the stores I've been to, f.y.e.'s used section was the only place I've seen bootlegs. Even had some Japanese DVDs (don't remember if they were R2 or bootleg region-free).

Nooooo, one of my Detective Conan DVD from my cousin was 99% bootleg. I was pretty sure the subtitles were... yuck. Well then I suppose it was a bootleg. *Phew* Thanks a lot for the advice. ^^

Yet again, me and my lazy self, should be updating the list by the end of this week.

Moneytree and Book & Music Exchange are stores we have around here for trading in game, movies and stuff like that. There's plenty of bootlegs there, mostly of series that aren't common. I've been cracking down on the FYE near my house. They know to check and make sure because I'll be getting on them if they don't. XD; The FYE in a local town still has bootleg and so does the Coconuts (an off branch of FYE like EBGames was for Gamestop). Lots of bootleg where I live.

It's no problem. I also bought a bootleg before I knew what they were. It was the entire series of Fullmetal Alchemist and I spent almost $100 too. D: It sucks. The cases are also covered in Chinese/Japanese, so that's another way to spot it.

Ah, I see. Thanks! Thing is, the place I live (oh, yes...) has bootlegs everywhere. For originals, it's kinda overpriced. It sucks.

Finally got Lucky Star: Volume 6 from RightStuf today after one month waiting (because it's on the backorder). I somehow felt satisfied getting the last one to complete the series in the limited edition box-art.

Haha, for some reason, I'm still hoping the LE will eventually be made. But I know it's not going to happen. I still need this one and Volume 4.

Sorry for the confusion, but when I was talking about the artbox (holding case), of course it's about the one from Vol.1. I meant that I got Vol.6 to fill up the box-art. I already know that Bandai isn't going to make the limited edition for Vol.6. Seems that I need to work on the literature some more ;(

FUNimation released a season one set back in September. The Traumend set will be released in July.

If you still want the singles, you can find them online. There might some still available at the store somewhere. I think my FYE still has the original velveteen box with Volume 1.
