About
This tournament is for people who did not make it into the official Pokemon Video Game Championships for 2009 tournament that were being held across the United States and Europe. Rules and Entry Qualifications
The rules in this tournament will be the same as those in the actual tournament- with just a few adjustments. The rules can be found at the following link: http://www.pokemonvgc.com/en/rules/rrg.html.Please ignore the times, locations, and paper work needed to enter, as they are not needed.
The only requirement to enter is that you did not get to enter any of the official tournaments whatsoever
The following are acceptable scenarios of the previously mentioned requirement:
1. You could not make to the tournament (lived too far, got there too late, etc.).
2. You went there, but just to watch.
3. You went there, registered, but did not get picked to battle (this can be multiple times, but it does not count if you went to multiple ones, got picked at one, then tried again, but didn't get picked).
4. You have never heard of this tournament.
5. You have Pokemon Diamond or Pearl, but not Platinum, and you truly, deeply wanted to enter.
(Basically, if you took no part in battling in the official tournament itself, then you are O.K. to enter)
If your reason was not listed, please let me know if you think your reason is valid: this is about honesty.
Differences from the Official Pokemon VGC 2009
Please note that the following items are a bit different in this tournament, and need to be followed:1. You need to post your friend code and in-game name when you sign up.
2. You need to list the four to six pokemon you will be using (no items, moves, natures, stats, etc. are necessary).
3. You need to post your reason for entering. For example: "I tried to get in, but I didn't get picked".
4. Two of the same items are allowed.
-The only items that there may not be more than one of are
Focus Sash, all "Choice" items, and Quick Claw. (These specific items were chosen to reduce luck and annoyance.)
5. This event will take place over Wi-Fi and can be done from the comfort of your own home.
6. This event can take place using Platinum, Diamond/Pearl (you need to PM me about why you would use Diamond/Pearl), or even Pokemon Battle Revolution if you so please.
7. Obviously, the prizes will be different.
Please ignore rules from the Pokemon website that obviously do not apply such as, "The tournament will take place using special DS Lite systems".
Use your common sense to determine that.
Prizes
Ah, the prizes. Some players enter to win, others, for the prizes, and the rest, to just have fun.~The prizes for the first and second place finishers will be a legit 10 ANIV Celebi with no EV's and an IV spread of 31/17/29/30/31/28 with a moveset of the receiver's choice (they are still on the 3rd generation games at the moment, so moves from the move tutors there are an option.)
*The first place winner will also win almost any other one Pokemon of their choice, which will be EV trained as wanted, and have the moveset that is wanted.
In addtion, they will receive any three items plus one TM that they desire, along with a choice of item that the Celebi and other Pokemon will hold.
~The prizes for 3rd and 4th place finishers will be the same as above, but without the Celebi, and are limited to only non-legendary Pokemon, only two items, and one TM.
The items can be a TM, medicine, hold item, fossil, normal item, mail, and pokeball--master balls, too if you don't mind it being a cloned one.

I have changed the rules, so now the Pokemon will be automatically set to level 50.

During the tournament...
Once I pair up the competitors, the two of you will have a maximum of 48 hours to respond, battle and report back all within that time.
If you are on vacation or are having trouble with your wi-fi, please let me know and you will not be penalized for it.
In order to check who won, I will ask both of you to tell me the results. Simply say, "I won/lost against *username*."
Recording the battle is optional, and is not required.
In order to get random result when I pair the competitors, I will write each person's name on an index card and stack them. Then, I will have my brother shuffle them up as best he can.
After that, he will lay them face down on the floor in front of me, without letting me see what is written on each card. I will then chose random cards in twos.
After the first round is over, I will throw away my index cards with the people who did not preceed, and do the same randomization process for the next round, and continue to do that for every round, except the final round. (Duh)
If you believe that there is something wrong with your openent's pokemon, or they did not use the pokemon they said they would, then let me (TR_Jessie) know.
I can't wait for the tournament to start, I am open to some suggestions and any kind help.
