This is about Anti-Pokemon people. If there is a thread about this can a mod close this please?

There are lots of people who do not hesitate to show their hatred for Pokemon. And yet what drives them to hate Pokemon?

I saw on the web one old guy saying that " Pokemon does not glorify God!"
That is religion. Twisted religion.

Others are practical. Like when the saga NEVER EVER ends due to the Japanese Anime style of an anti-climax during the final showdown between the antagonist and the protagonist- I'm talking about Ash losing all the time in the Pokemon leagues and [SPOIL]I have caught word that Ash will lose in Hoenn too. For those who don't know.[/SPOIL] Or some people are just plain bored.

There are even people who downright flame people who like Pokemon!

And let's not forget the " Long-winded moms and dads" who say that you are too old for Pokemon because THAT'S NOT TRUE!!!!!

There are many who campaigned against Pokemon. Like that Weatherford woman who kow-beh-kow-boo about Jynx. Good thing Adolf Hitler didn't kill the Nintendo people at the time because Pokemon wasn't invented yet.

This thread discusses all sort of anti-Pokemon.

Complaints are welcome.

No flaming please

there is nothing wrong with pokemon. just becuase the anime is a bit overabdundant in friendship and kindness doesn't mean it's a kiddy show for soccor moms and NASCAR dads to back up until their kid is 10 and then shove out the door.

also, the arguements of the radical christian supremacist steriotypes sounds more xenophobic and fictional than whatever they're trying to have it sound like. i mean, they claim that the tiny plastic figurines will come to life and jump into people's throats, suffocating them!

and for that one black woman: now, come on. is it really pokemon's fault she was being oppressed?

and (i forget who, sorry) once made a very good point to anti-pokemon bullies by showing them houndoom and describing it.

They suffer from something you might not have heard from. It's called AN OPINION. You like pokemon, they don't. It's quite simple. If you don't agree with them, you ignore them.

^ I don't get that. Pokemon isn't about Satanism or defying God or paganism. It's about creative little critters that can fight, friendship, and FUN. And this is coming from a Catholic.

*Sigh*
First off, this is coming from a grown Christian man.

There's nothing bad about Pokemon. In a world where 10 year-olds play games
like Grand Theft Auto and Halo, Pokemon is a GODSEND. The anime is clean, not sexual and raunchy, and focuses on friendship, not hate.
You can never be "Too old" for a show like that.

As for people who say Pokemon is "Satanic", they are just plain stupid.
Did Spiderman/Superman/Batman/Power Rangers/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' power "Come from God?" Didn't think so. They are cute little FICTIONAL animated creatures. Duh.

Pokemon evolve. Last time I checked Evolution and the bible didn't mix. Not that I'm saying it's a reason for christians to hate pokemon, but diehard ones may see it as a front to push the theory of evolution into kids faces.

Well, well, I don´t understand those christians too, but let´s stop speaking about them, I´m sure it will cause some bans and close this thread.

Like what happened with McDonald´s´ "what they use in their delicious meat" mith, I think that the conpetition created this just to take "power" in TV. I may be wrong (probably) but that´s what I always thought)

My father is against that I like pokémon, but I don´t care :D he thinks that I´m too old for this.

Halo teaches children how to fare in war once Bush taps the military draft. that's not bad, that's better than sliced bread.

and what about digimon? the worst rant i ever heard about it was that it was "a pokemon ripoff". it's about trans-dimensional demons powering up into giant versions of themselves and trying to kill all the humans and 'good guys' from their dimension, with them coming back later instead of dying! not to offend any digimon fans with anything in this paragraph, but if the uber-christians have to gang up on anime, respawning demons that destroy buildings as they try to murder eachother is a much better alternative to pseudo-animals that have life cycles and enjoy playfighting.

It's an anime, i mean what 10-year old is going to suddenly believe in evolution over creation because of some Anime? I have to say people are sometimes nuts over something so... innocent

I saw something saying that PKMN is made by people wanting to raise a new generation of Satanists, too. If this is true, it's too late for me. But honestly, it's probably the first nitendo game without killing. If they're going to something's evil, try something with killing in it. Like Mario :p jkg

and I think all this didn´t worked, everyone says that pokémon is dead, but they just forgot that pokémon emerald was the 2nd best selling game in 2005 (among the top 10 (or 15, not sure), it´s the only one from nintendo) AND it´s a REMAKE, ruby and sapphire was the best selling game in 2002 (or 2003, not sure too), so this all mean that the population prefers being "satanic" than follow something, if the people that say that is correct. which I doubt.

Super Aipom

Aipom is on TV now!?
The only thing "satanic" is the people who go too far with any videogame, in this case Pokemon. You do need balance in your life. I don't think Pokemon is evil but I think that the people's addiction is, just like all adictions.

I withdraw reluctantly.
I can understand different opinions, like someone who just doesn't like Pokemon, but this is ridiculous.

Like all the "Pokemon is anti-christian stuff" all over with these schizo Christians.

Pokemon badges are talismans that control the demons.
Psychic Pokemon didn't get their powers from god, so they got them from Satan.

Its just plain ridiculous. And then there's probably even talk about Pokemon fans losing salvation. Yeah, most likely.

I even read the online complaint that Houndoom is a hellish figure.

When will people learn, that these were created by Shinto-Buddist?

Frankly, I feel it was a bad idea for Nintendo to use the term "Evolve."
Saying "grows" or "becomes" would have been good enough, and wouldn't have caused all that "evolutionist" controversey.

Agreed, a priest here burned merchandise and games in public, and that was when the craze was strong o.o, now it's worse, I've seen people here in sppf talk like that -_-, one of the reasons I quit religion and built my own way of worshipping god, no offense to any religious people around here

There are plenty of reasons to hate pokemon...

There are the pokemon trade cards which promote people buying more and more sets in an addictive fashion and then play a game that to some looks almnost like gambling.

Then there are the TV shows. Just that brings on the people who just hate TV for being TV.
Then there's that whole "banning of episodes" thing going on for various vaguely understadable reasons which brings down a dark aura.
Not to mention the ever so famous episode which caused seizures; that certainly didn't help.
Also, for any person which doubt their sexuality there's a whole lot of cross-dressing in the pokemon shows (something rather common in Japanese comedy) which simply isn't understood in Americanized "puritan" ways.
Finally there's the aspect of fighting. Although always done by pokemon...

One might even consider some wack tagents such as slavery and animal abuse... Not to mention yet again, gambling.

Finally there are the games... That in itself is addictive. Features pretty much the same "problems" as the TV shows produce, except it's even easyer to "abuse" the time you spend playing pokemon where I think you'l get bored wathing the same episode/movie over and over again. Although games can be addictive I'd much rather be adicted to pokemon then say, drugs, alcohol or REAL gambling...

Then there are the various religions which get flustered with just about anything (eg creationism vs evolutionism, creatures of non-divine creations (for crying out loud, stop building houses... And also stop eating wheat unless you grow it yourself for that matter, since like 95% of wheat you buy included in your products are genetically modified anyway - yet no one cries about that now do they, specially since said product is like 1/3 of the price a of "non" modified one...)

Oh and there's also their motto: "Gotta Cath'm All" which to a lot of people interpret as a marketing sheme where "you have to buy'm all". Quite frankly marketing nowadays is much more insedeous than such a simple motto. Though personnaly I do somewhat agree with this last standpoint (eg: ever infamous Deo, Sere, Mew and Lati@ tickets). To that effect I'll add a bit to the point that irks me, which is that Nintendo has always been a "Closed" system where they "hide" their information by obscuring it. The problem with that approach is that eventually someone DOES figure out how it works and things like Action Replay end up appearing. Now in itself it's not that bad however with their "clsoed" policies, they try to stop these "hackers" with tactics which I personally find abuse of my rights of using the game. So "normal" eventually get penalized since the "hackers" end up indeed able to use their hacks and Nintendo in their ever vision of gradeur thinks everything is still nive hot and dandy when it's not, and who ends suffering for this? Us legitimate users. This isn't a new thing though. It's jsut a tipical open/closed source debate... But every instance has showed that if you plan on selling things to people and pass messages in the things which you want to keep secret, the people WILL eventually find the secret message regardless of the tactics you've used. Might as well open the can of worms and fix the problem at the source with a proper design rather then trying to hide it from them.

Wow. Ok, that last one was a long rant, I'll shut up now.

And remind people that I still DO love playing pokemon!

[ok one last comment]
Most religions convey a message that other religions are "evil" by definition. Though not all.
