NOTE: This has not been tested yet!
Well, for the last few days, I have been working on a bunch of Smeargle ways to get any attack on any one pkmn that knows Mimic. I think I have two scenarios that do work!
Scenario 1:
You need a pkmn with Mimic (move tutor in FR/LG/E teaches it to most pkmn). You also need a Smeargle with Sketch. The Smeargle should also be holding whatever berry it is that heals 10 PP. It must be faster than you! Engage in a double battle. Smeargle uses Sketch. You use Mimic to take Sketch. The berry should restore Sketch’s PP. Next turn, assuming the opponents did not remove you, use Smeargle’s Sketch, then Sketch Smeargle’s Sketch with the Mimic-using pkmn’s Sketch. In theory, since you used Sketch on Sketch, you should be able to, after that point, have Sketch on that pkmn to get it whatever attack you want. You could also have the Smeargle already know it to make that even simpler.
Scenario 2:
You need 2 Hoenn game cartridges. This scenario I have ran through tens of times already, so I came up with one way I am pretty sure will work—multiple possibilities.
You need on the first Hoenn game, a Smeargle that knows Sketch while holding the PP-restoring berry, and another pkmn with solely the move you desire (no others—they invented Heart Scales for a reason). Put Smeargle in first. Make it fast. Mix records with game 2. Game 2 must have the pkmn with Mimic. Same as above, Smeargle uses Sketch, and you Mimic Sketch. Its berry activated, then you Sketch Sketch and keep the effect after the fight. I already tested whether secret base battles keep Sketch, and they indeed do. The only thing is whether or not you get the second Sketch to 1. work and 2. keep the effect, as it was used after Mimic. You may only need the first Sketch and a Smeargle with 2 moves, Sketch and the other and you can use Torment. If this works, there are plenty of possibilities (i.e. Trick to give them the berry).
Please remember that this is all still theoretical—nothing has been tested. I could have made a simple flaw in here already--or maybe already been beaten to the idea.
