You have Games in the title. And yeah i've known about hose names since before pokemon was released. They're the sort of thing that get repeated on Pokemon Forums constantly so everybody knows what they are.

Actually, I remember seeing a demo for red with "kokoon". looked at it for five minutes or so, I hated it and figured it wouldn't last a year. four months later I was buying a copy of blue at target.

Thanks chaos wolf, thats all I needed to know, the beta is out there, sorry, didnt know these things get repeated, I also have a poster from nintendo with these names, and this is after show. It was from toyworld. Now a new quest, Seek out the beta!

Certain Pokemon names on that website for example Latias its Japanese name is Ratiasu so that is wrong right there.

Some of those beta names are quite stupid. "Man O War" "Spirit" "Spectre" "Phantom"...they're undescribably stupid. For the fun of it, I'm getting each Pokemon with a beta name on my Blue version and nicknaming them that.

I knew I heard that name before! I thought it was a typo. This was before the game was out in the US.

KOFFING (NY)
WEEZING (LA)
NY as in New York and LA as in Los Angeles (two of the most smog-infested cities).

They could have used HTX, Houston, Texas. That city is so smoggy, it's not even funny.

Smart! I tried everything, and never found out what they meant! And actually some of the beta names are better than the originals, IMO. Look at all the ancient Pokemon ones (excluding "Ptera"). They're giving me good ideas for names of fake Pokemon.

Yes, but HTX doesn't have a real pronounciation, unlike "Ny" and "La". BTW, sorry for the double post. Sometimes it doesn't let me edit.
