On my account on facebook, it has fan pages for characters from the manga and they each act like they are that character and chat with each other like they're real. Anyone else think that's weird?

There have been tons of companies that create facebook, myspace, and twitter accounts for characters in Television shows or Books and update it like they were the own character. Entirely to boost their appeal to the younger generation of kids. I have honestly never seen this used for Pokemon so it's either Nintendo endorsing their manga or a bunch of kids with a lot of time on their hands.

I think it would be cooler if they were more in character. Some of it seems more like half-assed attempts or out-of-character hence why I and some others find it kind of weird/annoying/random/stupid.
