Ao Kinomi (Contestshipping, PG-13)

Xiang

Well-Known Member
This is my latest work! Yay! My Japanese is terrible, sorry. I used an online dictionary and looked up "blueberry", but Buru-beri- didn't satisfy me at all, so I did the word for blue "ao" and berry "kinomi." Yipperz.

Okay, this is from me point of view. I'm a CSer in this fic. Hooray. If you want to too, PM me and I'll give you a space if I need it, but I'll most likely just reject it. Nothing personal.

Rated PG-13 for minor swearing, violence, and that's it probably. I'll provide warnings, but us CSers will read almost anything.

No SPAM please. I don't like people littering, either with trash or SPAM. Please keep my thread a clean place. :(

Prologue

Swearing: Very little. Almost none at all.

Violence: None.

Other: No.

Kaishi!

Good morning! the world cheered everyday at dawn. Of course, they don't sing it literally. It's just that the sun was up and a unique array of dazzling colors molded together and displayed themselves next to the impressive morning sun. The birds start their little chorus; oh how beautiful it can sound! It is the perfect tune for early spring, and it is the perfect lullaby for aching winter. Goodbye!

But that is, if the clouds weren't so rude as to butt in on a perfect day. They made the whole place, even May's room, seem empty. Which in fact, her room was empty except for her furniture and stuff. A little lump, little breathing lump now, rested on the bed. Smells of breakfast, quite familiar wafted around after escaping through that tiny slit of a space under her door. The lump, which was a girl, could smell the juicy aromas through her blissful sleep. Ah, she could sleep through anything.

-Ratiasu

P.S. No worries, I didn't step in her room. I guess I just inferred this stuff.

I stared down at the polished wood table and could see my reflection: a perfectly normal, perhaps cute, girl stared back up. She had black hair, no highlights, and eyes so rich and dark that they seemed black too. Great image of an Asian contestshipper. Yes. I took note of that, as I wanted to look great for today, although it was nothing special. Nope. Well, it could be, but it was going to be another day of CS investigating. My hands hurt from the journal entry I wrote this morning.

And, if you didn't know what CS is, it's something I support and practically worship along with many fans. It's a couple, and which by the way, I'm visiting the girl's house. Her name is May. She's cute, cuter than many and for her age, has quite a number of fans. Anyways, she's a innocent brunette with nice blue eyes, no doubt. She just came back from this big trip around Hoenn after the Grand Festival, and she's taking a tiny break, much to Drew's displeasure.

Oh, Drew, eh? Um. Well, I'm part of the fan club and all, but I still prefer him with May. He's got green hair and eyes (strange I know), and really great talent. Not to mention some really cool Pokemon. Problem is, he doesn't like getting crowded around fan girls, but that's not the reason I keep a distance. I guess I'm just shy.

Anyways, Caroline, May's mom, set a plate of a pancakes in front of me; I guess this is what they eat for breakfast. Not that I don't like it, but I usually don't eat breakfast. Either way, I scoffed it down. I bowed to Caroline respectfully and thanked her for the meal. "Thanks. When is May going to get up?"

"Oh, she's had a long year. You're welcome to stay here, although I'm curious about exactly who you may be and what you are doing here," Caroline said as she took a seat.

"Not much, except maybe to recommend her to this new contest region." I fiddled around, excited. If she accepted, which she probably would because Max was attending a Pokemon Academy in Kanto and Brock was with Ash in Orre. I knew Drew was going to the region as well, so I am trying to get May to go as well.

Caroline nodded. "That would be very helpful, as she has been looking for somewhere to go."

"And also, I'm looking for this elusive Pokemon said to have been wandering around the region." Yeah, really. Although that wasn't exactly the main point.

"What is this region you speak of?"

"The Lican region, home to only contests. It's a good level for May, as it is great for beginners, but better for coordinators with some amount of experience. We'll have to take a plane there, but I've got tickets." I lay down three paper tickets covered in a golden trimming. I don't know how I bought something so exquisite with the little bit of money I have, but hey, I managed. Besides, I'm not the frugal type.

I stayed there for a while until May got up. She ate breakfast and walked outside to stretch. Oh man, I'm definitely ready. She stretched upwards towards the sky, dressed in the same color. Her dress was light blue and gave me a peaceful feeling, but I was much too excited.

"I wonder where that girl Mom told me about went," May mumbled, although I caught the words easily. I walked from the side of the house and whispered back at a figure in the backyard to wait.

"Hey, May!"

"Who are you?"

"Oh, me? My name's Ratiasu, and I came to visit. Okay, not just visit. I'm inviting you to the Lican contest region, and I've already gotten the plane tickets."

"This is quite sudden..." May said. I signaled for the figure to come over, and I waited eagerly for May's reaction. When she saw who it was, her look changed to surprise. "Drew..."

"Surprised to see him? You should be. I got him to come here," Ratiasu admitted. May stared at Drew. He seemed to have grown an inch or so, as he was now taller than her.

"Is he going too?" she inquired, and I nodded. "Oh, well, I'll go then."

"But instead of being beaten by me every time we meet up, why don't we travel together?" he asked. I gaped at him. I didn't think of that! I slapped myself. Duh!

May steamed in anger. "Why you-"

Well, this was totally expected, wasn't it? Drew tossed her a rose, and I felt a ting of jealousy, but I pushed it away. That wasn't what I was here for, besides, I nearly scared the hell out of him when I jumped out from some random place and introduced myself and invited him to the same region. Mm.

The rose had a nice calming effect on May, and she quieted down. "Alright, I do want to go."

I giggled with the CS spirit in me, but May tossed me a confused look, and I sighed. I guess she didn't see the romance, as she just looks at Drew like a friend. Oh well.

My CS adventure had just began.

xD This sounds so great, Rai! <3 I love that everything is as if you've entered the Pokemon world and you still remember everything from the real world. I love this. D:

It would be neat if other CSers appeared from the club. :O

You have a good rating from me....^_~

I think it's cool! Long time no talk Twin! I see you've got a new contestshipping story. I've been neglecting my duty to read all the contestshipper's stories! It's my duty! The whole reason I joined serebii! To review the wonderful contestshipping stories! And yet, I'm still lazy and I still don't have time to read them! W/E I'll search them when summer comes. ^_^

This story is nice, though the length could use some work. But don't stress out, it's something that can be worked out slowly. Such as my fic, my chapters were extremely short, and so I just lengthened it out by typing a few minutes more! ^_^ I suppose this is good for an introductory or a prolouge, but I'm hoping there's much more to the second part then this chapter.

Pichu Gurl/Burakki=Ratiasu--am I right?

Still, it's a good story! *I rarely see asians in stories so it's a nice change*

.:Cobalt:.

I like the story, rati. You did a good job. Discription is at a maximum here. That is fairly unusual. Some contestshippy fics lack detail.

Thank you so much! ^-^

Next chapter has most progress out of all my fanfiction chapters that I'm working on. I'm studying some Japanese right now, since I have the language on my computer, but I only have words without the meaning and sentences without the meaning either. :D There is eensy-weensy bit of Japanese in next chapter! ;)

Yay! The first Contestshipping story containing an actual real-life character!

I love your description. :3 Everything flows naturally, and nothing's out of place (well, except for you but.. Okay, I'll stop).

*whines* Is Drew going to talk soon? I want to see how he reacts to everything.

Nonetheless, I shall await the next chapter.

Okay!

I'm dropping BtDS...though I'll remember it for being my first ever fanfiction posted anywhere. ^-^

Forget the Japanese, it won't show up on the site, or at least how I type them. ;_;

More of a filler chapter, and very short, but here it is! Any advice offered is appreciated, just please no flames. D:

Chapter 1- To the River that Sings and the Clover that Rings- or the Plane!

As much as this is unlike a luxury cruise- whoa, wait a minute. I've never been on one, (can't afford it), and besides, I get seasick. So there's a no-no.

Yet still, I feel grand even with old and fuzzy seats. There's air conditioning, lights, blinds for the windows, a bathroom- much like a regular airplane, but still wonderful. And they have a dining room. Now there's something you don't have everyday!

I look down at the world below, and I realize how small I am. Sure, I'm short. (Some people even think me a third grader.) But I seem so insignificant, so tiny and unknown compared to the earth I step on and breath. Everyone knows dear Earth, but does anyone truly know me?

Anyways, I'm getting off the topic. I'm on a mission to get CS into the canon world where it belongs. Whether this mission is for the CSHQ or for me and my aching heart, I don't want to fail. I believe and support in CS, and I am fighting for it. I have to make my mark in the world. And this is one way!

Ratiasu grinned as her pen sailed over the paper with her hand like graceful figure skaters.

Well, later.

Maybe I'll find someone for me someday...

-Ratiasu

A cart of gold, perhaps painted so, rolled slowly into the pathway. I got some money ready, and picked out some cookies and candy, then also secretly exchanged for a rose. Oh boy, this is going to be interesting.

I got out a slip of paper and scribbled down

From Drew

in fancy handwriting and folded it into a card. Then I slipped the rose through it, careful not to prick my finger on one of the threatening thorns.

"Ow!" I yelped quietly as one sunk itself below my skin. A drop of red liquid came out and I dabbed it away and scraped the thorn off. If I were to hold this rose properly, that thorn would've been quite a bloodsucker.

Drew and May sat next to each other in the pair of seats in front of me. The seat next to me was occupied by luggage that was small enough to carry around. I rummaged in my pack and pulled out my old blanket. It was a year younger than me, in other words, almost eleven. Some of the trimming was coming off, and I often got my legs stuck in the hole formed thanks to that. It smelled of home and my room and brought tears to my eyes.

Whenever I was sad, I cried into the blanket. When I was sick, it made me feel better. I slept with it every night and brought it to sleep-overs despite the teasing. I loved it very much, unlike some people did. My parents used to laugh at me when I carried around the house and snuggled in it while at the computer. I'm much too old to love a blanket, they say, but that's simply not true.

It was turning white as the blue wore away. I felt sorry for it that it went through years of wearing down, but I knew that it was happy to be by my side now.

Anyways, as soon as May went to the bathroom and Drew paid a visit to the dining room, I slipped the rose and note onto May's seat. Hopefully she wouldn't sit on it. My eyes started to close sleepily and I wrapped the blanket around myself. I gotta stay awake to see May's and Drew's reaction...

My eyes opened wider as soon as May returned and picked up the rose. Her curious blue eyes scanned it, and she opened the note and...sighed?

I coughed, on purpose, to get her attention.

"Oh, hey, Ratiasu."

"You're so lucky," I said to her. She blinked, confused, so I continued. "You have someone who is so kind as to give you roses- I never had something like that happen to me."

May stared at the rose, and I hoped that she was thinking what I wanted her to think...

"I guess Drew is a friend, and he's nice and all. Most of the time. And he helped me improve."

I felt my breakfast flop around in my stomach. Oh well. Didn't work out. Just wait until Drew pops back and your breakfast will settle, Ratiasu.

Sure enough, that mystifying boy came back and May showed him the rose. "Hey, Drew. Thanks."

"For what?"

"This rose! Sometimes you frustrate me!" May huffed.

"And I'm going to run home and cry to Mama," Drew said back sarcastically. "I didn't send you a rose!"

"What did you think I did? Go as low to steal it?" May shot back. Some passengers gave them annoyed looks, but I was having fun watching them bicker.

"I wouldn't think that," Drew said quietly.

They both quieted down and I could feel the tension between them. I wanted to celebrate, but for the CSHQ's sake, I didn't. Fireworks shot off inside me.

"Sorry. But then who did send it?" May inquired.

"Maybe you to yourself," Drew said as he smirked.

"That's what you would do with your swelled head!" May replied angrily.

"I have the right to have a swelled head, since I'm a talented coordinator."

May seethed and steamed with fury as she struggled for a reply. She had to admit, Drew was right. "So! You have to admit that I've got something in me!"

"And what is it?" Drew teased.

May groaned loudly in aggravation and gritted her teeth. "I'm talking about talent- hey, are you even listening to me right now?!"

Drew sat with his arms crossed. A smug smirk spread over his lips. "Your talent is nothing compared to mine."

The same frustrated reaction from before came from May.

I adjusted my camera a little- I was taping them. The camera was hidden so that neither of them could notice it. I was having a lot of fun. I gave Drew a point, in which I marked in tallies on the notepad hidden in my blanket. So far, Drew was winning by ten.

Later, I finished my lunch early so I could steam up another video for the comrades back at the CSHQ. This time, I labeled a chocolate box. I know, I wanted it for myself, but whatever. This time, I put down that it was from May, so I could give it to Drew.

Drew walked back and examined the chocolate box. I peeked from behind his seat to see a reaction that he wouldn't do in front of anyone he knew. He hugged the box close to his chest and when May entered the area, he quickly just held it.

"Drew, what's that you have there? Did Ratiasu send it to you?" May asked, pointing at the box. She folded up her bandana.

"No, you did," Drew said, perfectly innocent.

"Stop it!"

They had a verbal battle again, and I got it all on tape, but stopped when suddenly, May reached out a hand and slapped him in the face.

"You're so impossible!" she cried.

Drew was stunned and didn't move. The strike then sunk in and left an emotional scar- I could tell. This wasn't going to put me on a good spotlight for the CSHQ, but they're nice people.

Later that hour May and I switched seats. I still held my "Blankie" and tried to fall asleep. But I couldn't, not next to Drew. I was too excited, but didn't show it. I knew I didn't have the ability to really blush, so it was okay. Squealing wouldn't work either, obviously, so I merely sat next to him and remained silent. My heart beat so loud, I swear Drew could hear it, but then again, only I could. I pulled out my notepad and clicked my pen so that the point peeked out.

Note to self- don't take the bickering of CS too far.

"What are you writing?" Drew asked as he leaned closer to me to get a peek. I quickly pulled the pad away and grumbled to myself. Drew was surprised. "Is it that personal?"

I took a chance and asked, "Do you what CS is?"

Drew shook his head, much to my disappointment and delight.

The rest of the day was awkwardly quiet, and the only constant noise was the whirring of the plane's engine.

"We'll land in approximately forty-five minutes," a monotonic voice droned on the PA. May bounced impatiently in her seat. Drew kept his calm and confident pose, and I fidgeted a little before settling down.

We'll get there soon. That's what I kept on telling my impatient self. I hummed some songs I remembered, such as "Till Death Do Us Part," "Promise to Try," and "Dear Jessie." All by Madonna.

"Ride the rainbow to the other side,
Catch a falling star, and then taaaake a ride,
To the river that sings
And the clover that rings...

...Think elephants and lemonade,
Be a Jessie
Hear the laughter-"

I was cut off in the middle of the school by some weird looks from people around us. I shrunk away and slid down my seat and frowned. Can't a girl have fun? I was sure my singing wasn't that awful...at least I hoped that was true.

I watched as the blue around us evaporated to leave behind yellow and green palm trees and bright sunlight. We were in the tropical region of the peninsula. I could already smell ocean salt and beach sand nearby, and my blood flowed faster with my growing excitement. This area had the most ports and tourist attractions in the entire country, as well as a large and busy airport system. There wasn't much for coordinators here, but it is known to be a great place to relax and loosen up.

I didn't get too excited at the stench of the city, since I preferred to have elbow room and the buildings less than twenty times taller than me, but either way, we were at the beach!
