Even if I know because they have work overload, I'm still impressed Kusaka didn't creat a new, original character called "Ultra" for the story. Guess those days are past us...

As many has said before, for BW2, there were new characters in-game, named Nate and Rosa opposed to Hilbert and Hilda. However, here, it is the same protagonists, Elio and Selene.
Also, it seems Kusaka doesn’t like to create new characters anymore, where can you name any new characters that Kusaka made after say, Diamond and Pearl arc?
The text translation is out, and Moon got mad at Sun for...comparing her to Soliera.

Same protagonist, though. Lack/Whi were literally new protagonists/different people.
It wouldn't have made sense to make an Ultra version of the SM protagonists when it's a hairstyle change and different clothes.

Creating a new character isn't hard.

It's trying to develop and establish them as an individual while also dealing with the previous protagonists is the problem.

Every single time Pokespe has introduced a new member of an already established Dex holder group (be they original or not), the original protagonists were removed from the story so the new kid had some alone time to ease them in to the narrative.

Red was frozen. Green and Blue were off doing their own things before joining Yellow.

Gold and Silver were unconscious after being defeated by the Mask of Ice.

Ruby and Sapphire were sent to the Battle Frontier several days after Emerald started.

Black's a rock and White was off doing her usual BW Agency stuff.

Here? Sun and Moon are very much still active in the story, and with the time constraints, it's not like they have the option of temporarily writing them out to make way for a new kid.

I could argue that just introducing the new kid and having him/her interacting with the already stabilished characters right of the bat would be a viable alternative.

I guess that, in the end, what's really preventing such idea is the time constraints. After all, BW2 isn't even finished and who knows how long until it is.

Here's hoping Kusaka just uses this year to warp up Alola and maybe Unova as well so he can focus on Gen 8 region later in the year.

Pokemon Announcer "It appears the trainer Ultra has switched out his Pokemon! What will Ultra think of next?"

That sounds so off lol. Although with Lack-two and Whi-two... it's certainly not impossible.

If they are going to serialize LPGE, this will start before gen 8 chapter.

And I still suppose that they will separate "Team Rainbow Rocket" into a chapter. If so, it also will happen before gen 8 chapter.

My guess is that he's come to Ultra Megalopolis to study Necrozma, Lunala and Solgaleo in order to create the N-Solarizer and N-Lunarizer which allows Necrozma to fuse into Dusk Mane Necrozma and Dawn Wings Necrozma. The thing is I feel like this is most likely going to happen because we've seen that Necrozma's fusion with Solgaleo seems to be somehow painful and Colress's alternative might be a better way for Necrozma to fuse more effectively.

They deliberately kept Colress in shadow despite it being obvious who it was. That's a good indicator that he won't play an important role here.

It's a cameo meant to reference how he worked with Aether and the Recon Squad in the games. No different than Steven's cameo at the beginning of Pt.

I can't help but guess at what will happen based on how things are going. At some point Dusk-Mane Necrozma will be fixed, after which it will go to absorb Lunala and become Ultra Necrozma, there will probably be a big fight involving Necrozma, Ultra Beasts, and other legendary/mythical Pokemon (especially 100% Zygarde), Necrozma defuses into Dawn-Wings Necrozma (got to show off that form somehow) and Sun properly links with Solgaleo to fight Necrozma, Necrozma defuses further and Moon relinks with Lunala, and fighting continues until Necrozma and all enemy Ultra Beasts are defeated.

On this chapter, what were your favorite scene? Mine was when Moon conversed with Soliera, where it shows how she is like her, but has idealogical differences.
