Arcanine Vs. Rapidash.

The way to go is defenitly ARCAININE! Its base stats are just better. Rapidash is almost NU but Arcanine is pretty popular.

Rapidash blows....hard.

Arcanine, despite being a pure fire type (one of the worst types for battling) can pull off pretty decent stuff, like Howl + Extremespeed. Plus, all of its base stats are above 80, making it a pretty reliable pokemon. I'd say Arcanine is the second/third best non-legendary fire type in the game, after Blaziken and perhaps Charizard (no, I'm not a Charizard fanboy!).

Rapidash BORES ME DAMMIT. I'm growing a soft spot for Arcanine, 'cause he reminds me of my character who has a fire dog form.

I prefer horses over dogs. Vastly. And Rapidash is quite nice. She has a cool build, majestic looks and is usable enough. The only thing detracting from her usefulness is Nintendo's stupidity/tendency (Your take. I'd say the former...) to shaft some Pokémon. She's got EVERYTHING to perform stuff like Earthquake and Megahorn. WITH EASE. But Nintendo is stupid...

And considering it all, they're about the same when it comes to usefulness. Arcanine is possibly better, though. Still, one can't pass off the majestic feeling of Rapidash. For dogs I prefer Houndoom any day of the week anyway. Makes Arcanine look like some reject...

I second that. I love Arcanine, but Rapidash, being a horse, wins my vote any day.

I really like Rapidash. In fact, 's one of my favorite Fire Pokemon. ^__^ I've been training one for a little while now.

(needs to learn Mega Horn imo... >__>)

No offence but:

Rapidash's movepool is so poor, it can barely even have enough moves on it's sets to really battle. But I like rapidash's looks much more. Rapidash should get Extremespeed, Earthquake, and Megahorn, and it might be used a bit more.

I like dogs. I have a dog, i find dogs cute/fun... i'd prefer a dog over a firey unicorn any day.
