Are all of the TCG sets compatable with each other?

I know that the e-reader cards arn't, but what about all of the others, are they compatable?

What do you mean by compatable? You can use any set with any other set, it doesn't matter what they look like.

You mean modified? Current modified is Hidden Legends on in the US, and Ruby/Sapphire on for a fair bit of Europe, I believe.

It they do not have the scan thing in the border of the card then no.

In a non-official battle or an unlimited battle ANY SET (Base-Delta Species+) can be used. In modified, which is what nearly all tournaments are held as, cards curently can only be used from Hidden Ledgends and NEWER sets (curently Hidden Ledgends-Delta Species).

If you mean with the e-Reader, then no, only e cards are compatible.

If you mean the whole evolves from/into thing go by what the card says. If it says "evolves from dark Pupitar", then it only evolves from "dark pupitar", if it says "pupitar" then it only evolves from "pupitar" same thing with holon/light/ anything else I missed. Hope this helps.
