I think the pokemons become uglier. The first generation is and always stays the best. Because the pokemons of the 1st generation are not ugly. The 2nd generation turns out but the 3th and 4th generation is worse, very worse.

Look at Probopass or Magmortar or Electivire... they are so ugly that they almost look like digimons!

Please discuss...

Not really. They're getting more complex, sure. But can you honestly say Torterra is uglier than Dunsparce?

No but Torterra is uglier than Venusaur/Meganium/Sceptile

I don't think all of them are meant to be like Jigglypuff and Clefairy. Torterra is more of a muscle pokemon, not a cute one.

Magmortar, honestly it is as if Gamefreak have said "Lets give Magmar some Muscle, and......Cannons as its arms!". Honestly, i don't know why but the fact it has Cannons for an arm really freaks me out and don't get me started on the origin of its Japanese name.

Torterra isn't ugly! Look at venusaur, it has warts, thats ugly, but i still like venusaur. Most of the new Gen IV evolutions are really ugly though, like probopass, and Togekiss. Personaly I really think Sharpedo is the worst looking Pokemon, I've always felt it looked incomplete.

I like Pokemon better when they are ugly. And besides, don't tell me Nidoking looks less ugly than some of our more recent ones. Unfortunately, Pokemon like Wormadam and Probopass have highlighted this feature poorly.

Really?

Another complaning thread? :\

Take it or leave it, no one is forcing you to like/play the newer games.

I am no fan of the sinnoh season's pokemon. But you cant really do anything about it.

I agree with most of you that the 4th generation has slacked on most of their pokemon looks and designs. The one i think is close to the ugliest is piplups final evolved form. the dude has a trident fused to the front of his body and the fork being right on his face...lame. but one of my most disliked pokemon to this day is geodude and graveler, theyre ugly they pop up in the game whenever your trying to find something else, and when your trying to catch a graveler for your dex and to evolve it in to finally a good decent looking pokemon it explodes and selfdestructs all over you.

PS whoever said Togekiss is ugly... what are you talking about!!!??? The only way i can see if anyone would think hes ugly is from someone who didnt live in the usa, and hated on him because of his colors.

I actually like Electivire's look... I think that was a good evolution design.
Magmortar... as soon as I saw that... my love of Magmar died... giving it such an awkward evolution... hate the look of that dang thing...Tangrowth is also awkward looking, not ugly per-se, but, weird enough to make it seem ugly...
And Lickylicky... nuf said there...
And, I know Purugly is supposed to be ugly, hence the end of its name... but, Glameow looks normal and is a good design... but... Purugly truly embodies that last part of it's name...

They exist.
A lot of Pokemon are ugly to me, spanning all 4 generations. I'm probably just easily unimpressed with their sprites and only arbitrarily love a few. (Arcanine, Gallade, Darkrai rawr)
