Are pokemon trainers stupid?

I mean, most trainers go out at the age of ten. That means they receive up to fifth grade education, and go out into the world, unsupervised.

Oh well, seeing as how Ash acts in the anime, i'm not surprised.

I never thought about this, probably. In that world it's all happy and laffy taffy so only old people need to be smart. It's actually safe for ten year olds to travel by themselves.

Anyways....yeah, I know its 'just a tv show'~but LOL....10yr old kids allowed to go out in the world to train potentialy dangerous creatures..... that is pretty extreem...
would have been ore realistic if they were 15/16yrs old....but then again, that would have maybe ruined a lot of the jokes and alienate young viewers...

Well how do you know what the education system is like in Japan?

It might be more forced on so they may be smarter then we are at that age. And even then, how do you know that they study the same subjects as us in the Pokemon world. It might be more poke-based.

Ash IS an idiot when it comes to most basic functions, but he seems to excel in being a Trainer.

I think being Pokemon Trainer is a job that doesn't require you to graduate from school. Thta's maybe why Ash doesn't go to school. Alos he has been traveling from town to town and nothing happened to him. So he really doesn't need to go to school or get more education.

People are just ****** because he hasn't made Pikachu evolve yet and he didn't capture all the legendaries he met in the movies. Oh, and 'cause he never made a move on Kasumi or Haruka.

ROFLMAO. Ash, Misty, Brock, May, Max are ALL idiots. Falling for team retards ploy EVERY time although they KNOW that J&J have the same style of creepy hair. And since WHEN are men two feet tallk and have whiskers and cat ears? Or more plausibly, a FREAKING VISIBLE TAIL.

Speaking in general for other trainers they must be smart, I mean if you could handle a Pokedex functions, while knowing how to use all the items in the Pokemon universe, including a foldable bicycle, they would know how to travel alone.
