Definitely get Super Mario All Stars. I would also recomend Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, just because it's a pretty fun game.

Super Mario World*
Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island*
Chrono Trigger*
Final Fantasy III
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past*
Super Mario Kart
Super Mario All-Stars*
Super Metroid*
Super Punch-Out!
Donkey Kong Country
Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest*
Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble*
Earthbound
Fire Emblem: Monshou no Nazo
Fire Emblem: Thracia 776
Fire Emblem: Seisen no Keifu
Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars*

That should get you started (Fire Emblem titles are JPN only, BTW). I put asterisks by the cream of the crop.

Don't forget that when NWii comes out that you can download them. ;025;

Despite the qualms people have with it's graphical style, Kirby's Dreamland 3 is a pretty decent platformer.
Both Earthworm Jim titles are solid choices too, though I'm not sure if they were better or worse than the Mega Drive versions.

S.Suikun and Latios kinda beat me to the post, so I can't really add much else :p

Did you actually read the first post? Or were you trying to be funny?

Hmm...you should DEFINATELY get all the proper Mario games. Donkey Kong Country was also a good game. I played Earthbound once, and it was VERY good, and you'll probably like it if you're an RPG fan. It may be hard to get your hands on it though.

The biggest problem with getting an SNES is that the cartridge internal batteries only last 10 years, so no doubt quite a few of them have died off. In other words: You won't be able to save at all.

The DK series was the best along with the Mario Wold series. The best DK was part 2 with Diddy Kong and Dixie Kong... I love that game so much I still have it along with my Super Nes.

Best game on the SNES is Secret of Mana by a long shot. You HAVE to get that game
More fun if you have a friend to play with. Otherwise, not the best game for SNES. :p

Forget Super Mario World and Super Mario All-Stars.

If you can find a copy, get Super Mario All-Stars+. Comes with SMW as well as the stuff that's in SMAS already. :p

What? No Wario's Woods? XP

Recommended SNES games from me (most were already mentioned):

-Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island
-Tetris Attack
-Donkey Kong Country 2
-Final Fantasy Mystic Quest
-Final Fantasy III-VI, IV, V
-Chrono Trigger
-Super Mario RPG
-Kirby Superstar 3
-Harvest Moon
-Super Mario Kart
-Simcity, Simcity 2000
-Super Bomberman 5
-Kirby's Avalanche, Puyo 2
-Secret of Mana
-Illusion of Time
-Super Street Fighter
-Lufia II: Rise of the Sinistrals
-Skyblazer
-F-Zero
-Actraiser
-Earthbound
-The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past

Of these, I highly recommend getting Final Fantasy V, though I think it'll be hard to get in an English version, and Harvest Moon, if you like the country life, farming, and doing any other related activities.
