are these misprints?

Is that a misprint? the font is all weird, and there are breaks in th lines. I have 8 of thes, and also the 2 kakuna that I have like this say length instead of weight. Are these misprints? If so, I would like to know.

Length written twice is a misprint, that's not supposed to be like that. I don't see anything wrong with the text of the one in the picture. Do you have a scan of the ones that have 'breaks in the lines' and the font is 'all weird'?

I'll go scan the others, but the HP font is smaller, darker, and mover over a little. that's what I meant by all weird. and also, the background is faded.

Don't get all excited. it was a certain print by nintendo, so there are likely more than 10,000 of them in the world. sorry. I've got 3 like that myself.

these looks like the first batches of orginal unmarked base set cards. If you compare that to other base set cards, you'll also notice that the is no shadow on the kakauna along the right side of the picture, and the HP text seems a little darker red and not as bold. I have a few cards like that, but those breaks in the lines and the length slip up are definatly misprints.

Yeah, the sad thing about misprints is if they printed one, they printed thousands. The only factor is whether other people noticed their misprints, also. Sometimes after a while there aren't many left because cards gradually get worn/discarded/ruined in some way, and they generally don't make the same printing mistake twice.

And do you mean ComicCon international in San Diego? I'm going there for four days this year. It's a lot of fun, you should go regardless of whether your misprints are anything special.

Those cards that you showed the links of are NOT misprints (except for the Length/Length cards, etc, which aren't worth an insane amount--most are $5 at the most, the Diglett is worth around $30 lately), they're "shadowless" cards. All 1st edition Base Set cards are shadowless, as well a single print run of unlimited. Since they are only from one print run, they're worth a little more than regular Base Set cards, but I can't really say how much--they're just big collector's items, so it depends on what a particular person is willing to pay for it/how much they need it.

Are you sure you mean up-side-down and not sideways? Because I have a Base Set One Diglett with the Fighting energy symbol for Dig turned sideways. I used to have two, but I gave one to my brother. Now I'm wondering if I should have done that or not. XD

The breaks in the lines aren't misprints. It's just that the lines were designed to have a slight "shine" on them in certain places. Look at the Arbok card in the same places where the line breaks are on the Kakuna, and you should see what I mean.

All of my very first cards are like that, and I still have most of them. I didn't notice it then, but now I compair them to my semi-newer ones, and they look towed up.

I have a new misprint. A Kabutops from base was a non holo and is number #24 not #9.

No, they aren't. They were the first cards ever made, but really hard to find today.
