Are you playing as the Male or Female character?

I always play as the male character, and this is no exception.

Why?: Because I play as the female in all my games; because I'm a girl. Why would I ever play as the male? I wouldn't, does that make sense enough?

I'm playing the male, just got the game yesterday and on my 3rd badge going to my 4th. The girl looks ugly in this game compared to the others....well her clothes are ugly. Why they didn't use the original girl from Crystal is beyond me.
