Ariados Team

[Skudkip]

Well, these are not the best sprites but I have a few Ariados's in some different types.

The first one is rock, the second is poison (the main type of Airados), the thisrd one is electric, and the fourth is fire. I hope you like them, and please tell me how to improve!

Second, the poison one.. you did like nothing to it.
I havnt seen sprites as bad as these in awhile,
And Im talking about SPPF-Sprite section so thats saying something.

Why, how nice of you to say that. You know, manners don't go amiss in these forums, you ever heard of those? Niceties, saying things to help a boy who wants to be a spriter along. Would you go up to a dislexic person who really wants to be an author, and tell them that their writing is complete **** and then spit on his work and compare him to people like Dickens? Well thats what it feels like to get a review like that, so if you dont mind giving the boy some encouragement, then just leave the thread and find some manners. Seeing a post like that just really pisses me off.

You know, I was producing crappier sprites at the age of thirteen, and considering you're nine years old, I have to compliment you on the skill in which you've made these. I love the concept of creating teams of the same Pokemon, but different types, so well done with that.

Perhaps the one that needs most improvement would be the rock one - all it needs is a more defined outline really, a bit more black around the edges, and it should look great. Try studying Pokemon like Geodude to help with it.

Good job, Skudkip, and just you ignore those people who seem to think that virtually slapping you in the face and kicking you to the ground with their snide and useless comments is the way to stop you from spriting and destroying their eyes. =)

yeah they do, leave autumn alone, the only thing that skudkip did was recolor the yellow parts on two and badly recolored the rock one.

So what if Skudikip did very little to the sprites? HELP HIM THEN. For Christs skaes, this boy wants to sprite - FRICKEN HELP HIM. What on earth has happened to the kindness in these forums?

if you want me to help him: skudkip try to recolor all of the sprite, try mixing and read the helpful tutorials up at the top of the forum

Simple recolors, nothing to special. Colors... so... dull... add some more brightness, or use the color schemes from other pokemon, like ampharos.
Also, I would've never guessed that those were re-elements, try adding other characteristics to them to make it more apparent.

Scot you're a good friend, and a pretty good spriter. But when you give comments, give CONSTRUCTIVE CRITISM. You don't like it either when people bash your work.

Listen to Tale, words of wisdom people.

Autumn is right. He didn't say it in such a nice way, but they're just recolors. (Excluding the Poison one, which is just the normal one) For recolors, they're not all that good, either. Well, the Rock one sn't. The shading and outlines look really wrong.

On the other hand your sprites are done badly, they’re just recolors and they are even recolored badly. Remember that you have a light source coming from the North West. It would be wise to put the darker colors at the bottom of the shading. They all hardly look like the type that they are meant to be. If you’re going to even call them relements try to add some detail to distinguish them from that type. Hope this helps you out somewhat, cheers!

Hmmm ... are these your first sprites? Or at least a few of your firsts?

Well, if they are, good job. If they're not ... well, nice try. I think you should try to do more to them, personally, you know, make it more obvious that they're the ___ type. I suggest you leave out the Poison type, considering you don't need to change anything anyways. The coloring is a bit chopping, make it more ... dunno how to say it - flowy. (That came out wrong). Okay, just blend it more. I'm not an excellent spriter myself, but I'd recommend you to the How to make a sprite thread here.

u know really they aren't that special for the following reasons
1. the first one is badly recolored
2. the second one is the original sprite so nothing special about that
3. the third one is actually a good recolor but you find a way to add like lightning around it or something
4. the fourth one should just be brushed up a little bit and it should be fine

Thanks for your CRITISISM, sorry to some people, but some of you are just mean i try hard and now,just aswell quit forums if you are mean to me, i try my hardest to get comments but you're just crushing it.

Alright, Autumn had valid points but clearly didn't phrase them in a kind manner.

If you want these to be true re-elements you have to do more than just a simple tweak and recolor. For the rock one, for example, try making the body out of rocks by customizing and really making it look like rocks. They aren't bad...but they're just not all that good. But nice try, keep it up!
