Arkham Games

I don't believe there are any topics about Arkham City (Which is pretty damn surprising.)

The game is right around the corner and I could not be any more excited for it. Anyone else? Maybe it's not good to raise my hopes so high but after everything that has been revealed it's a little hard not to get hyped.

Arkham Asylum set that standard bar for superhero games way up high but it appears Arkham City will take it up even further. I have complete faith in Rocksteady and I hope they decide to take up more superhero games in the future. God knows we need a good Superman game.

Haven't played Arkham Asylum but I'll be sure to pick up Arkham City once it comes out for the Wii U (investing money into this system).

I played AA around when it first came out but not much. I am going to best buy a week from Saturday to grab AC though.

I've never played the Arkham games but that one commrecial about the "Joker's Carnival DLC challenge" is annoying. Sorry but Batman making a pun while beating up people without ANY other noise besides him grunting and talking just makes for an awkward commercial I'm probably the only one who gets annoyed by a DLC commercial but hey I shrug.

I've been meaning to play Arkham Asylum, but I'm focusing more on schooling and game design at the moment than actually playing games. It's my last term of school this year after all.

Asylum was the first game I played when I got an Xbox 360. My... step brother in-law (?)... anyway, I played the game at his house on PS3 and thought it was awesome.

I thought the gameplay was fun, and employed a decent amount of strategy. The environment was great, and actual villain appearance was just right for me, while Riddlers's question tied in others. And the challenge mode was pretty fun.

I'm kind of worried the second game will be too full of villains. I'm thinking I heard there'll be Two-face, riddler, penguin, Mr. Freeze and another, I think the name was hugo strange. And the Joker will surely be present. Having too many villains will dilute everyone's significance, unless they do it right. Plus, I don't really care for Robin being there; I'm not sure about Catwomen.

Anyway, I'm excited for it to come out. I'm not planning on buying it straight away, though. I'm in the middle of MW2, and don't want to get a new game at the moment.

What Slick said about the villains.

Robin's for challenge mode only, and only as a special skin if you preorder the game at a certain retailer. And he's not the pansy Dick Grayson Robin, he's Tim Drake.

Catwoman plays essentially the same as Batman, she just has different animations.

The full list of villains known t be in the game is Joker, Bane, Mr. Freeze, Dr. Strange, Penguin, Riddler, Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, Two-Face, Calendar Man, Talia al Ghul (villain status disputable), Solomon Grundy, Mad Hatter, Deadshot, and Zsasz.

You forgot about Black Mask who is so far, confirmed to be in the dlc, though Gamesmaster has stated that Two Face's goons will have latex hoods supplied by Black Mask; suggesting he is in the game. Also, some action figures were released for Arkham City with the characters Killer Croc and The Reaper. Nothing has been said about this though the chance of them being in this game is average, though for Croc, due to the sewers being accessible and the 'No Cell Policy', we might see him running around. The Scarecrow has not been confirmed but Gamesmaster said in their review that the sequences won't return but don't expect not to see a few run ins with him. It later said that the player can find Scarecrow's discarded mask somewhere. I believe Hush is in this game as the serial killer achievement just largely suggested him. Azrael is supposedly the mystery watcher as a game reviewer (Or a demo player, forgot who) saw a villain on the rooftops watching you with the same appearence. When Rocksteady or someone was asked about this, they told the person to keep quiet and that a reveal would be done about it.
So far, I think that Ra's al Ghul is either in this game or having a big role off screen, Clayface is in this and is working for Joker, Maxie Zeus is in it as the Gotham City Olympus casino was seen, suggesting his appearence. All in all, I am glad they are giving more villains who will be having more than once appearence. After seeing the beginning, I though Two Face wouldn't be seen again but a trailer confirmed his presence in another area with a big rifle. The gameplay is great and the side missions are looking good, even though half of them are Riddler Based. The ending boss fight is with Joker again, though I think it is in the Monarch theatre with him, Clayface, Mad Hatter (As a 'Hat' is supposed to be important in the ending) and one of the al Ghul's at least is there too. Hugo Strange will be watching over it all and leaving, suggesting he will return for the sequel. 32 bio's isn't great but they will all have 3d renders which is good. Batman can't swim yet again but with the help of a freeze batarang, he can walk along freeze platforms on it.
Whoever is crazy about this game and want to see more spoilers or discussion on this, go to the arkham city forums, great place for info.

Oh yeah!
Scarecrow and Killer Croc are back in this one! Killer Croc is running around the city somewhere and Scarecrow is making (I believe) a cameo. The player will find his discarded mask somewhere, meaning that someone has found his corpse from the last game, he losed it in arkham city or he has been killed. EDIT: Scarecrow and Croc may not actually be in the game from what I have seen but they are heavily referenced and I think Scarecrow isn't making an appearence. Killer Croc is but I don't think Scarecrow is unfortunately.
Many playthrough videos are appearing on youtube but they are getting banned by warner bros. Some spoilers are coming out so I'll be posting more of them later :D

Edit: Two big villains are making a big unexpected appearence in Arkham City whose roles I don't want to reveal because it is massive spoilers and will ruin the game. The villains are:
Clayface and Ra's al Ghul
Truly a great game and I have seen many of the gameplays and walkthroughs on youtube before they are banned by Warner Bros. The preorder exclusives are big and I think for now, I'll just get the robin special edition from game as the skins will come out later in the year as dlc.

Un-****ing belivable.

It's crap like this that pisses me off. Not the second-hand thing; I never buy games second-hand. But the crap involving you have to unlock Catwoman through use of a code online. Yeah, I kinda don't have Live, so there's no way for me to get this. If it gets GOTY (which I'd rather see go to Skyrim) or some sort of special edition in the future, Catwoman better already have been unlocked. While this won't stop me from getting the game, it just strengthens my feelings of this kind of crap being wrong.

Arrrg! Why release it on a Tuesday when everyone is either at school or work? Why not today or this weekend?

Just buy the game new. You can handle it.

I will. That's not what I'm complaining about. What I'm complaing about is the fact that Catwoman can only be unlocked via an online pass, and seeing as I don't have Live and won't be getting the game on PC, I (alongside numerous other, anonymous individuals) will be left in the dark about these missions.
