Well yeah, and that's all season 1...they've censored it A LOT since then, even in Japan.

Yeah? Well, you can have your Lv.100 Pokemon kick Cynthia's butt, whereas frontier brains are always tougher opponents in the game. So Frontier Brains > Elite 4/Champion at least in the games. It is, however, debatable in the anime.

Ash can beat the elite four if he has a good fully evolved team.

I seem to remember someone (most likely Scott) telling Ash that the Frontier Brains are just as powerful as the Elite Four, if not more.

Ahhh I see, was this from the Dub? The Dub can make any character say anything, as long as it doesn't get too out of text. Unless a good source translated it to english and Scott did say that in the original, then i wont believe that for now. I doubt Frontier Brains are stronger then Elite 4, Ash lost to Agatha, but beat Noland, who used a Legendary, Greta, Tucker, Lucy, Spencer, Anabel, and Brandon, who even had a legendary too.
WHY does everybody think Ash deserves to win so much? In order to even get to the league, he has to win eight regional badges- very few of which are an easy job- but then when he does get there EVERY SINGLE ENTRANT has achieved the same thing. He always gets pretty damn far, considering he's one of a very high number of trainers who are, at least, skilled enough to conquer eight gyms. He's not a trainer of any unique skill really- we should just be glad that we usually get a few solid episodes worth of awesome battles out of it

I believe when Ash faced the frontier brains he was mentally prepared and he trained his Pokemon accordingly, but when he fought the Elite 4s, he wasn't prepared for them or anything. They just happened.
