Ash & Hikozaru? Why not?

Ash had all three starters for kanto and Johto. Him having more than one starter is not new.

The whole point is that AG CHANGED things in the series and D/P is continuing the tradition.

Ash getting all the starters was boring, predictable writing. It was fine in Kanto and in Johto it was somewhat repetitive, but nowadays it would be horrible.

And instead of wasting a starter on Brock this time like in AG, they gave it to Shinji instead.

So basically the rival actually has a starter he uses this time around wow.

It's better to split them up. We actually saw all three of the starters reach the 2nd form atleast in Hoenn.

Besides, Mudkip <<<<< Corphish and Torchic <<<<<< Torkoal for Ash.

i no hes NEVER going to get hikazaro now... But i would have personally liked him to get hikazaru instead of neatle just because he already has bulbsaur, bayleef and sceptile... i cant see neatle pulling a bulba and not evolving and if it fully evolves sceptile will be forgotten.

But w/es neatle looks cute but when it evolves how on earth is a GIANT TURTLE (like its huge) going to jump on ashs head and bite it

Agree. Ash catching only one starter is a good thing, 'cause he can have more diversity for his team. And after the last time he battled Shinji, we can predict that Shinou league final fight between Ash and Shinji could be Naetle (can be evolved) Vs. Hikozaru (certainly will evolve).

I think that Ash WILL get a new fire Pokemon, but it isnt going to be Hiko. I actually see Aipom being his Fire Pokemon,seeing as normal Pokemon can learn a wide variety of attacks.

Brock is a breeder so if shinji got rid of Hikozaru.Hikozaru would want a good
trainer so he will see brock healing a pokemon and then he will want Brock
to be his trainer,but what he dosen`t no that he will rot in his pokeball.

And I, personally, see Ash getting a Magby or a Magmar, letting it evolve into Buuburn, and viola, fire problemo solved! Woo! Anyway, no, he won't get a hiko, because 1. Shinji has one already, 2. Hiko sucks and 3. He's getting Buuburn, and it can kill hiko.

He won't get Hikozaru, it's not cool enough.
But really, this time around it looks like he won't be using a fire type. Since he always uses new Pokemon in a new region, and there aren't any other new fire types {save Hiidoran and Buuburn, of course}, he'll just not get a fire this go around.

Actually... when was the last time we saw two Pokemon of the same species going at it? Could be interesting, especially if they've got different movesets (though you can bet on both having Flame Wheel)

Besides, wonder what Shinji's reaction would be if he found out Ash had a Hiko? Derison or annoyance or both?
