This was originally posted...a while ago (about the start of 2005, I believe), when I was under the name of "Katsuya". Since then, I've swayed away from Pokémon, but I'm finally getting back in the swing of things. Anyway, with that in mind I have tried to update this as much as possible, but there may be some continuity errors. Any you spot, please tell me so I don't do the same mistake again. I may post the scripts for some of these episodes from Season 1 (16 episodes altogether), but time will tell if that is to happen.
Episode 1: Ash Ketchum, Viridian Gym Leader
After losing in the Hoenn league, Ash is set to return home when the group stop off at a Pokémon centre. There, Nurse Joy informs Ash that the Viridian City Gym Leader and ex-head of Team Rocket Giovanni has died of a heart attack. Team Rocket has broken up, and the spot of Gym Leader is open for taking. After Max drags Brock away from Joy, she tells Ash that he has the credentials for being the Gym Leader. With this possibility, Ash decides he will go visit Lance, leader of the Kanto Gym Trainers. Taking Max with him, the two go to Johto to pick up Charizard from the Charific Valley. Flying to Indigo Plateau, they find all the leaders suffering the effects of a celebration party – the details of which Ash refuses to tell Max. Lance agrees to give Ash the keys to the gym, causing Ash and Max to jump for joy (literally). There mood changes when they find the gym in ruins, and all the Pokémon there in extremely poor condition. Professor Oak agrees to care for the injured Pokémon, and with some help from Ash's many friends at home, including Misty, Deliah & Tracey, the gym is quickly brought back up to the necessary standards. Ash realises that his Hoenn Pokémon may not be strong enough to take on some of the Kanto trainers, and decides he must try and get his Pidgeot back. With that in mind, he starts off to the Viridian Forest on his own, leaving Pikachu and his other Pokémon with Max at the Gym. Before he reaches the Forest entrance though, Swellow appears and forces Ash to bring him along. Ash realises the sense of having a Flying Pokémon with him, and agrees. The episode comes to its conclusion as they enter the Forest.
Episode 2: Battle of the Birds!
Ash releases Swellow as soon as they enter the Forest, unsure of what to except. The first thing he comes across is an injured Claydol, which he goes over to help. As soon as he does, a group of Fearow spring from the bushes, attacking Ash, Swellow & Claydol. The Fearow’s disperse suddenly, and a Fearow looking very ticked off appears. Ash realises this is the Fearow that has haunted him since he originally started as a trainer. When another attack is about to begin, a small bunch of Pidgeotto appear. They are soon joined by none other than Pidgeot, and the flock manage to beat back the Fearow’s. Ash thanks Pidgeot, and heals Swellow as well as the Claydol. When Ash tries to get Pidgeot back in the Pokéball, it manages to explain to him the Fearow have been beating his kind, meaning he cannot return. Swellow, noticing this conversation, tries to convince Pidgeot to let it take it's place. Before Pidgeot can respond, Fearow return's with at least 10 more Fearow, as well as a group of Spearow. Pidgeot calls for assistance and a small bunch of Pidgeotto & Pidgey come to assist the ones already there. But the battle soon turns out to be a rather one sided affair, as the evolved Fearow easily pick off the weaker Pokémon, leaving Pidgeot and a duo of Pidgeotto left. Suddenly, Swellow swoops up Ash and the Claydol and joins the fight. A tandem Gust with Pidgeot sends the Fearow back, but it is Claydol who makes the big move, using Confusion to stop the Fearow. As the Pidgeotto's take out the remaining Fearow (becoming Pidgeot's themselves), Pidgeot and Swellow use a double Aerial Ace to knock out Ash's old enemy. With the Fearow's driven off again, Pidgeot decides the Forest is safe enough to come with Ash. Swellow decides to remain in the Forest, and Claydol captures itself, joining Ash. With his team boosted, Ash leaves the Forest, vowing to come back for Swellow soon.
