Ash refuses to become a retired Pokémon Trainer?

Why would Ash Ketchum refuse to go home, retiring his Pokémon Training when he has lost to many Pokémon Leagues?

Nah, I don't think so. He loves to battle and meet new Pokemon and Trainers. The decision rests in the writers hands. And they're making a lot of money too, so I think it'll be awhile until that happens. xD

But I'm not sure if Pokémon Trainers in the anime make money from winning the battle or not? But I don't think money in the Pokémon anime are used or seen at all, but they're only mentioned.

Because Ash is not the type of person that gives up. You are making it seem like he is a hopeless trainer that should give up because he no chance of accomplishing anything. When the reality is that Ash won the Battle Frontier, Orange League and made it to the Final 4 of the Sinnoh League after beating Paul and Tobias' Darkrai as well as tying with Latios. Ash is a great trainer.

I agree with you: he's not bad when he puts his mind to it (really no one is). I just hope Ash becomes a master soon or we're gonna keep dragging the anime on and on (personally though). ;)

Ash is far from a bad Trainer.

Consider that about half of the Pokemon Trainers who start off don't complete their first year on the road. They don't even make it to the 8th Gym. They never reach Pokemon League. They go home. Then there are Trainers who take over a year to get their eight badges. They might be out there years before they even see the Pokemon League. Even after all of that they might make it to the Pokemon League only to get crushed by a more experienced Trainer in the first round. Then they're back at square one, taking 1+ years to collect a badge, only so they could do slightly better next year. Ash is a Trainer who's not only qualified for the Pokemon League in the first year but one who has consistently placed in the Top Percentile of Pokemon Trainers who compete.

That's not even counting his wins in the Battle Frontier and Orange League.

This thread is pretty meaningless. But if we were to consider it a good question, it has been answered.
